Always thought that in a red situation the rules are you have to come to a clean rest on your own to avoid being "part of the caution". So I'm curious why DeWease was allowed to stay up front in his heat when he clearly contacted another car while trying to stop and spun.

I understand the car flipping had already come to a stop and DeWease collected an entirely different car trying to stop, but I had always thought you had to completely avoid the accident and come to a rest on your own.

I know it would have been a controversial call to send him to the back, but I wonder if it had been a nobody instead would they have been given the same break.

Ryan Anderson spun Wednesday night in the A in the Gravel, Bacon wreck and they gave him his spot back.

Actually Anderson was ruled to be involved in the caution and sent to the back for the restart with Herrera. He and Herrera restarted as the last two cars on the lead lap. At the time of the wreck Heskin had lapped up to Ryan Bunton. Anderson passed Moughn who nearly crashed on the restart and Bruce to finish 15th.

Are you sure? I could have sworn I saw Anderson restart back in front of Rahmer, who was around 13th at the time?

I was wondering too. This is a hazzy one. Marty was a car not involved in the crash but was slowing more rapidly than the other cars. Dewease just had to hammer his breaks alot more to avoid the much slower Perovich. Hazzy call on this one.

Knoxville results show caution brought out on lap 17 for Gravel, Bacon, Herrera, and Anderson. I thought Anderson restarted ahead of Herrera...all 3 being red and white cars though I can't be certain. I think Rahmer was the last car on the lead lap when the wreck happened so you might be right. But I would have to think if they did put Anderson ahead of Rahmer on the restart it was by mistake.

I'm not saying DeWease should have been sent back. I just know when it happened everyone around us thought the same thing and were immediately curious how Knoxville would rule it.

If DeWease spun to miss the car for witch the red was thrown and did not go to the work area and

work on his car he gets his spot back.

He was avoiding our safety workers, and they decided that rather than sacrifice them and have him keep rolling, they would give the spot back. He was not the reason for the red, nor caught up in the accident either...
