it has always been 200pts for quik time and feature win and 100 pts for heat race win
if i rember right then it goes down by 1 point per spot after that.
the top 20 in points are locked in for the a main and then the next 20 in the b
c main i think is the next 10 in points. then the non qualifiers run friday night straight up on points for starting postions, then they fill the rest of the cmain and d main and the e if there is one

I see that it says "Heats are inverted (8-10)"
Does that mean they will make the decision of how many on race night based on track conditions again?

From the Knoxville site:
Order of Events: Hot laps, Qualifications, Last Chance Heats,
5 Heats, C feature, B feature, A feature.
Qualifications - 200 points are awarded for quick timer, 198 for
second quick, 196 for third, etc.
Only the top 50 qualifiers make the heats, the rest are put in the
last chance heats in which the first eight finishers will fill the back
of that night's C feature (starting in the sixth row).
Last Chance Heats (for drivers out of the top 50 in Qual.) – 50 points
awarded to the winner, 47 for 2nd, etc.
Heats - 100 points are awarded for the heat winner, points go down
by three: 97, 94, 91, 88, etc.
Heats are inverted (8-10). This sets up the best racing of the
week. Top four finishers go to A, next four to B, last two to C.
C feature – Top two finishers go to back of the B. Third place is
worth 96 pts., 2nd is 94, etc.
B feature – The top four finishers transfer to the tail of the A. The
B awards 142 points for fifth, 140 for sixth and so on by twos.
A feature - The A feature points are the same as time trials: 200,
198, 196 etc. This explains how a driver can not make the A, but
if he timed well may have more points than someone who did make
the A.
Ties in points go to the quicker timer.
A perfect score (quick time, heat win, feature win) is 500.

no quik timer in the back unless there are not enough cars to justify a non qulifier race then they would tag the heats
all depends on car count on wed and thur

Last I remember the heats had 10 cars each with a full invert....any last chance qualifiers (or cars that missed the top 50 if not LCQ is needed) tagged the rear.
I know that a few years ago it was changed when there was a rain out and the invert was lowered....I thought they went back to 10 car invert.

At least their advertising (8-10 car invert) is honest this year.
They will never get more cars at the Nats UNLESS they go back to fully inverted heat races.
Might as well plan on the invert being 8 until they lower it to 6. When they lower it to 6 it will become just another WoO race with a big purse.
The guys that time 41 -50 might as well load the car into the trailer after TT.
Their Nats are done.
The only hope they have of making anything better than the C main on their qualifying night is cars in front of them drop out of the heat race. Even then they start 20th in the B with no real hope of doing much.
Back when they started on the front of the heat race they at least had a chance of making the qualifying night A and pocketing a little money.
