Mini Stocks--- Leroy Burger #7 Pro Stocks-- Chad Weber #44 E-Mods-- Joey Buntin E-Sprints-- Gil White #45 Mods-- Chad Davis #52 Champs-- Kyle Cobb#4C It was a good night for relatives to run well, as Joey Buntin and Dustin Buntin finished first and second in the E-Mod A Feature, and Kyle and Travis Cobb finished first and second in the Champ Sprint A feature. Racing action was good, car count was awful!!!

Think it has anything to do with starting at 9:30? Races start at 8, didn't call to roll the track in until 8. then chew on everyone's ass because its late and the track isn't rolled in yet. its the last time for my ass to get chewed . makes me wonder why the car count is dropping. just my thoughts.

Choate,

This is just my opinion but I think one reason car count was so low was that the heat is starting to take a toll on everyone. I have talked to drivers and they are saying that this heat is just to much to go race with. The heat does drain people pretty fast and with it ongoing it is not getting any better.

I can say this this was the worst car count all year, we have had from 70+ to 80+ to 90 each week, i think it is the heat, i personally don't care what time we start, and they are doing the best they can with the extreme heat we are having, i had to go out there and roll the track in twice, what i am saying is don't bash cause this is what is killing Dirt Tracks in Oklahoma, and we all need to support and do what we can to keep them alive, i just let things go out one ear and just do what is needed so we can race, and i know you do also.

Not making excuses, but Mark was sick as heck last night, probably shouldn't have been there, but........ While I agree that starting earlier would get us finished earlier, I'm not sure the fans could or would be able to stand the heat. As it is, the stands are just getting in the shade as you guys are packing the track.

Fans 50, 60 years and older can't do this heat. It was 95 or so at 11 last night. This is an extraordinary hot summer for fans, drivers, pit crews and track workers. It's hard to sit still in the stands let alone work in the pits in this heat. Something has to give and starting later at night helps prevent health problems for everyone involved. Anyone with asthma, blood pressure problems and conditions like that is going to stay home. The only other thing that might work is to take the next few weeks off and let this bad crazy Super Heat Dome or whatever it is go away then pick up racing in September and tag the missed nights on at the end of the season and run more into October and November. Not sure anyone would go for that but it sure would be cooler and have less health risks for everyone. To get through this crazy hot season there'll have to be a little give and take on everyone's part to support our tracks.

Very well said Tek, this heat is bad on everyone and it is hard to deal with being healthy or not. And it is a little bit cooler by starting later, but still not cool enough.

didnt see this till now..

this heat is killing all outside activity, BMS prolly should have taken friday off, it was very, very hot.

But when you promote that racing starts at 8 ya better start at 8. When a fan shows up at 7:45 with his family and waits in the heat untill 9:30 that could be the last time that family shows up. Racing and BMS does not need that.

AND.. Please dont take this as a knock. Mark has turned that track around. It is a great place and cant say again how much good he has done. BMS one downfall has been race times and I'm sure thats a very hard thing to get right as well.

Probably the best post on this subject yet - and that is for all tracks who do this.
