What a joke! We could of raced, but my guess is that we didn't have enough cars so the promoter called it. I don't plan on making the tow again.

Yes, do tell how many cars so I can use that as a basis to see if I will be making the trip to Dodge City next weekend.

I think it's time for USAC to schedule more races that are closer to Ind. Why not hit some tracks in Illinois or Ohio instead of trying to run races in Nebraska and Kansas? Also from the all the fan reaction I heard, it's sounds like they need to dump the Eastern Tour in Pa. Twice or was it three times they tried to race at Williams Grove and it didn't happen. I just think they need to look into other options closer to home so that it's more affordable for the teams to travel.

It's really hard for me to understand why anyone would be happy that any dirt track event gets cancelled. The many MANY fans who planned trips and took time off to attend the race miss out (and I heard from too many to remember while answering the phone to tell them we had to cancel; but most said 'okay, we'll be there next year'), the racers miss out on making money after investing all that time and money towing to the track; just doesn't make sense to me how anyone (no matter how bitter over some imagined slight) could like that, let alone take great joy in it. Maybe I'm the only one who actually loves dirt track racing. Several of the USAC drivers even stated how badly they had wanted to race at Eagle and that they couldn't wait for next year.

There were plenty of cars, but after it rained for an hour, it just wasn't going to happen. Add in the fact that there was more rain on the way just clinched it. The owner and Jason talked for a long, long time before making the decision; and it was a tough one to say the least. When you have the tow truck pulling rigs out, I'd say that gives a really good indication that it was probably too muddy to run. wink

The event is already on the schedule for next year, so threadkiller, you'd better start building up all of your hate so you have a good head of steam built up.

For everyone else, I want to tell you how sorry we were that we couldn't run the race. We'll do it for you next year!

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Ah excuse me?. It is obvious you have not attended any races on the Eastern Tour. What fan reaction? The tour has been very well received by the fans and USAC has done their part by bringing enough cars to make the shows worthwhile. Williams Grove is no longer on the Eastern Tour schedule. The two races I attended this year at Grandview ( Pa) and New Egypt (NJ) had good crowds and the fans were thrilled to see the Wingless Warriors race. Most of the fans sitting around me couldn't wait to see them again in 2012.

I know we had 13 in the infield when they called it. There was a few haulers still parked outside but I don't know if they were sprint cars or late models.

Bit of a pain - Drove all the way from Belleville (- via speedy bills - so the trip was not entirely wasted) after i guy a met on thursday night said in effect "man - it will be awesome - great track" sold it to me. Managed to get back to Belleville for the 2nd half of the time trials, but 4 qualifietes and a 23 car A main did not do it for me so I have upped sticks early and am heading for Knoxville erly - currently about half way there. Aint this WiFi wonderful.

Real simple genius: Schedule the race BEFORE or AFTER the Belleville Midget Nationals. Work with an established event instead of trying to sink it. I've had a number of people tell me that Kevin Miller told them here that the scheduling of that race when it was scheduled was an "accident" or in other words not intentional (nobody is buying it by the way). If it was an accident it could have been changed to Thursday or Sunday real easy and it would have been better for everyone. BUT - that would require the present powers to be at USAC to pull their heads out of their asses and so far they don't seem prepared to do that. I am sorry for the people who were looking forward to this event but I must say that I had one of the bigger grins I have ever had the rest of the night when word came over that Eagle rained out.

I would like to know who and how many had to be towed out. When we pulled out there were two trailers left in the pits and up to that point nobody had been towed anywhere. And just how many sprint cars were there by the way if you know so much?
