For anyone planning on going to the fair, please be aware that the main parking lot at the fair will fill up pretty quickly after the fair opens at 11 AM. If you do manage to get there in time to park, parking cost is $10. I am not sure if they will let you use beach parking for the fair, but if they do, it will probably fill up even more quickly.
There are seperate parking areas around Ventura (the mall, the government center) where parking and the shuttle to the fair is free. Here is a link to the shuttle and transportation page for further details:

If you plan on going to watch the racing in the grandstand, grandstand ticket prices are $5 for adults. They do not have the childrens price listed on the fair website, so I am not sure if kids need to have a ticket purchased also.
Admission to the fair is $12 for adults and $9 for kids 6-12 and seniors 62 and over. Wednesday is also dollar day. From 11-3, all admission to the fair is just $1.
