What tracks have a weekly 410 show within 2-3 hours of Knoxville? Husets is about 5 hrs. Just trying to think of the optimal place to move if one wants to live in the heart of sprint car country. Thanks!

Husets is around 330 miles. St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington MO is around 370 miles. Jacksonville IL is around 245 miles. Only tracks less than 500 miles that I know of. Jacksonville runs Friday, Farmington runs Saturday, and Husets runs Sunday.

Burlington Iowa (34 Raceway) is about 1 1/2 hours East of Knoxville. Nice track with Sprint Invader races (360s) and and occasional 410 show. Nice track... Personally I would move to Knoxville if it were not for my job.

You have to move to Indy of you want to be nearby to many tracks without much travel.

Thank for the info everyone. My parents live about two hrs north of Williams Grove. Just went there for the Summer Nat's for the first time. Pretty historic, and sweet, but it's not Knoxville... Although Indiana is sweet with the non-wing stuff, and PA has lots of great tracks and drivers, I think K-ville is where it's at. Just need more $ and car owners here in the midwest to get more tracks going. frown

plus there is not enough people in the midwest to support it (iowa has very few people compared to most states), MO has a good amount of 360 with knoxville being rather close

Ohio has 4 or 5 weekly 410 programs and PA isn't too far and neither is Indiana

OK, it's not SUPER close to Knoxville, but River Cities in Grand Forks, North Dakota has a weekly 410 sprint/late model show. The sprints are, however, a mix of 410s and 360s, but since the track is only 1/4 mile there's action all over the place.

It is about 600 miles from track to track, but you can definitely drive that in a day. Totally worth it.

20 minutes to Williams Grove, 15 minutes to Lincoln. It makes PA tolerable.

On most any given weekend there will be more 410 racing in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania than for most of the season in Iowa area. Central Ohio seems like a nice compromise. Non-wing in Indiana, both in Ohio, and wing in Pennsylvanis. While Knoxville has a great history, be careful not to be fooled by marketing phrases like "The Capital of Sprint Car Racing".

Nothing to be fooled by, Knoxville is the Capital of Sprint Car Racing.

What was I thinking when I finally moved to Indy after many years of looking for the ultimate place to live, for going to as many sprint car, midget, and even some Silver Crown races every year? Its now my 6th summer here, and in that time I've probably been to close to 500 races, many of them within a 2-3 hr drive from Indy,in Indiana,Ohio, and Illinois.

I should have just moved to Knoxville instead.

I think ill stick to Ohio....

Dont get me wrong If I had the extra$$$, I would have a camper set up in the North Campground @ Knoxville for the year for about 5 weeknd trips there... But I wouldnt want to move there year around just for racin....
