Yo' Jack, that's how Bobby Allen won and it was Sammy with the lead, arghhhhhh.......
Sammy also should have won when he had a crimp in his fuel cell and the car burped on the last lap and Danny got his first win.
He also had a nice lead the year Mark Kinser missed the yellow/red for Don Dround and ran into the back of him. Sammy just keeps going forward racing every feature like it's his last, it's what he does.....

About 1998, suuuuure it did*.
He was spinning the tires all the way through 1 & 2. He went into the corner too fast and missed the bottom, plain and simple.

Wasn't Sammy sponsored by Goodyear at one point. Seem to remember that he was one of the last to switch to Hoosiers a few years back.

I think you're right about Sammy being one of the last to switch to Hoosiers.
I might be my imagination or a faulty memory but it seems to me there was a night a few years back that he did some tire testing for GY after the races were done on a qual night during the nationals.
Forbrook's car was another one that stuck with GY a lot longer than most others as well.
