Starting to get excited, downloaded Knoxville format info. Pretty complex, got most of it but I have a few questions: A)For the 1st 2 nites heats, it says: "Heats are inverted (8-10)" What do they mean by "8-10"?
B)For the grand finale, top 4 from B Main quality. Am I correct to assume other 20 are top 20 in pts.? Inverted?
C) Whats the purse for "Race of Champions" Friday?
Thanks

The 8-10 means how many cars in the heats on Wednesday and Thursday they will invert. They used to invert the entire heat which made for some of the best racing at the Nationals, but went to 8 a couple of years ago because the slower cars were clogging up the starts. The top 20 are locked into the A main and this year with out scrambles that's how they will start, straight up by points. and the top 4 from the B on Saturday transfer into the A to make the final 24 car field. If you want to know how the points break down for each race go to knoxvilleraceway.com and click events then click the Knoxville Nationals logo. It will give you everything you need to know.

The invert of 8-10 on qualifying nights is based on car count I believe.
Saturdays feature is the top 20 from overall on Wednesday/Thursday they are not inverted they are lined up by points.
RoC purse is 60k.

FYI -- in the event of ties in point totals (pre-scramble era), the tie-breaker was time trials -- whoever had the faster lap on their qualifying night got the nod. I would assume that will be the case again.

Guys tied in points should have to do a Friday night King of the Hill 6 lap shoot out

I like the idea... but the logic of unloading all your crap in the infield to run 6 laps doesn't really make sense -- especially if you're not getting paid!

agreed. it was always a pain to do it for just a 10 lap scramble. Still wish they would bring back the old pursuits.

The least they could do is while hot lapping take their times and who ever was faster. but if it is A main guys then that screws up the T Shirt line up people. I never did like the idea of using qualifying times if the to were on different nights. But I guess that is how it has to be. There is a pro and con to every option.
