I have read some of the threads addressing the issue of car counts around the region I find some of the comments interesting and intriguing. While it is unfortunate that some tracks and some racing series are struggling to maintain a good car count there is one group that is having successful car counts.
That group would be the OCRS Sprint car series. The OCRS series has obtained an average car count of over 30 per race and in these tough times I find this is a good accomplishment. For those who know me you know I travel with the OCRS series, while I have read that there are those who prefer other types of classes I respect everyones opinion, afterall, we are all race fans.
I do find the OCRS Sprint Car Series provides a great form of excitement and entertainment, I have witnessed a last lap pass for the win on one night, and I have witnessed a last lap last turn pass on another night. The action has been really good. For any series that you may like I hope that the entertainment that you get out of your favorite class is enough to want you to return on a regular basis.
I do understand that the local tracks need to obtain decent car counts for their very survival. It is in the best interest for any race team from any division to take your car out to your local track and support them today so that they might be there for you tomorrow.
While there are many sides and angles that can be addressed as to the reason why there are some shortages, the ultimate recipe is to fill the pit areas with race cars regardless of class. The promoters are working hard to maintain their very existence. For the race fan, spending a night at your local race track is the ultimate payback that you can give a promoter for their hard work and efforts.
All the politicking, negative feedback and finger pointing will not remedy our problem as to why there are some car shortages. If we all pull together and just get to the race tracks regardless what side of the pit fence you are on, this is a problem that can be overcome. Thank you for allowing my two cents ......KitKat!!!
