Good for Fred, don't know how well he'll do but this really was shaping up to be a great year and certaintly his best in the last couple of years.

From the injuries that I heard he sustained, this is just amazing. He's one tough SOB!! The thing everybody needs to remember is as you get older, your body just doesn't heal as quick as it use to. Kinser, Rahmer, Sammy, & Jac and guys like 'em aren't young, and the speed they've come back from their various injuries is pretty impressive. They broke the mold with that generation!

Fast Freddy has many friends on the Outlaw tour and is about as respected as any driver in the country by them, this only makes sense, good luck to him!

ouch .....only Steve is tougher
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

First let me say, I am a big Fast Freddie fan, that being said, I really think he is coming back way too soon from those injuries. It has only been 2 weeks. I hope I eat these words and he does real well this weekend, but I am sure he will be in alot of pain. The sad part is that he had been wicked fast prior to getting hurt. After all these years, he finally learned how to time trial. Good luck Fritz.

Sometimes it seems as though these guys have super human pain tolerances. Kinser with the broken arm, Dollansky with broken leg in the past, McCarl with injuries that he's had, and now Fred with the list going on and on. I'd bet that sitting in these cars and doing what they do best is the only time the pain goes away until they heal. It gives them that few mintues of relief and lets their mind focus on something other than hurting.
As long as Freddie's doc gave him the go ahead saying that it can't really get injured any worse than it already is, then strap in and give it a go. If it doesn't work out for him Friday, I'm sure Mr. Excitement will be on speed dial for Saturday!

Rahmer won from 24th against the World of Also Rans last year. Didn't want to miss out on the easy pickens.

WTG Fast Freddy. You are now my inspiration.....I'm such a damn klutz!!!I rolled over my ankle and fractured it this morning. Im in a soft cast and crutches right now . Bloody sucks big time, two and a half weeks before I fly to the Knoxville Nationals. Guess I will have to drink my pain away, or double up on my pain killers. Hopefully that way I'll still be able to do everything I had planned. If Freddy can heal so quick, so can I...LOL

Well can almost guarantee you that there is no doctor's clearance. Saw Fred in the pits at the Grove last week and can assure you that racing this weekend shouldn't have even been considered. Between his eye and sternum - no way. The heat, humidity and just the ramped up intensity of being an outlaw weekend is going to be heavy contributors to the unhealed injuries. Understand his thinking behind "gotta be there" and "sux to see someone else in your race car" but how about a little common sense. Think of your 3 kids! Hope to be wrong, but believe this is really a bad decision.

I am sure Fred feels he can race!! I am sure that if he felt he was not ready to race; he would not!! He has had a great career in racing, He still has alot of great racing left in him. He is a husband a, father, and a racer.I am sure that he is ready!!
You have to agree Fred Rahmer at 85% of what is normally is! Is about the same as 70% of the other drivers at their best.

A week after hitting the wall flat out at Knoxville a few years ago and breaking a vertebre, he was back on the front stretch at Williams Grove. I have no clue how he's doing this, I've bruised ribs on several occasions and that's enough, I can't imagine the sternum, but you never know. A good time trial, a smooth heat....I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the one that has to run him down on a track as slick as the one will be tonight in the 100 degree heat.
