from a Chris Holt post.....
Bidding closed on the Fire Suit...closed at $200.00, winning bidder has not indicated what position in the race the money will go yet. The race is in 25 days, over 100 fans have read this post, no offers as of yet...the Walt James Last Man Standing trophy dash has over $1,500.00 up for grabs, the Billy Wilkerson Fast Time is at $250.00, $100.00 to the winner of the B Main, 100 to the hard charger, lap 4 and lap 19 are the only two laps claimed so far. Lefty Len put 100 on the winner, Mike & Bridget have turned over 100, still waiting to hear where it is going. I'm looking for help...

Just two clarify since my bid of $200 is on the site but was not noticed I was not the winner. Chris apologized and offered me beer for life at the PAS but I told him not to worry about since I don't drink. I think he knew that, lol!

Mike... the winning bid promised the suit a good home, the Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles, (that is part of the Estralla Warbird Museum) where Dick Woodland has a very nice racing collection. We are doing pretty well with the Kindoll Classic, there has been a good response considering the economy, and the sponsors are giving from their heart, each donation has a personal meaning and I'm hearing some interesting stories about the "good old days"...The Billy Wilkerson Fast Time Award is growing, fast time will also be a transfer to the Walt James Trophy Dash if the team decides they would like to compete in the race. Steve Rogers has just hung up the phone, he is putting another $50.00 to the winner of the 'B' Main Event. Hollywood has also put $100.00 on the "B" main, and Kathy Simpson/John Redican have added $55.00 to the "B"Main. There are a few other promised amounts that I have not had the time to add up but they are posted on another post, I will gather that info and post here ASAP. With another $55.00 from Simpson/Redican the Walt James dash is at $1,608.00 and growing, not bad for a short race but hope everyone rememebers the reason for the race is to honor Walt James and recognize a life time of dedication that shouldn't be overlooked. Gail and Adrienne Forester, Anne Wilkerson & John Redican have that fast time award at $405.00 by the way. Allow me time to thank Lee and Norma Leonard, Don Flanders, Lefty Len, The Agajanians, Ron Schwarze, Turn 4 Rob and everyone else that has helped build the fund for this years race, it's all abou the racers, past and present, this should be a great event for the fans and fun for the teams.
