Staff Changes at Victorville Raceway Park
When we took over the Track early this year, our goal was to keep "VRP" from closing down, and provide the Racers (Our Customers) with a Fun, Fair, Safe Racing experience. In evaluating the 1st part of the Season, and listening to our customers effective immediately the following Staff Changes have been made.:
Track Manager/Event Director: Marvin Grinder. Marvin was the Official Flagman and brings almost 20 years of Racing experience, as he was involved in the early days of Victorville working under Gene Woods, Vince LaPorte, Gary Lane, and past management. Marvin brings vast knowledge of Dirt Track Racing and his goal is also to have the Racers know that they are Racing on a Fair level playing field.
Named as Tech Directors are Herb Dennis and Mike Sales who combined have over 30 years of Racing Experience. Their goal is to let all Racers know that they are also Racing on a level playing field and rule infractions will not be tolerated at "VRP". There is nothing worst than leaving a Track having that gut feeling that the guy that beat you was illegal, and no one checked his car.
Track Prep. Veteran Late Model Racer and Heavy Equipment Operator Ron Barnett has offered to help get our Track Prep back to the level that "VRP" has been know for. Last Sat. Night was a disgrace, and I will not run a Race under those conditions again. We tried our best to continue with the past grader operator, but almost $1,700 with fuel per event is out of our Budget if we want to continue to give the Racers increased Purse Money. Currently the racers are running for the largest Purse Money Victorville has ever offered. Purse pay-outs will continue to be Cash Night of Show.
Track Announcer will continue to be Doug Bushey who has done a great job, and we appreciate and enjoyed working with Scott Daloisio, and look forward to working with him again when his Schedule permits.
We sincerely hope the Racers will continue to support "VRP", as our goal is to provide the Racers and Fans a fun Racing experience. Our next evet is Sat. July 23rd with 410.360 Open Sprint Cars...Sport Mods...Street Stocks..Sport Compacts...All Americans
