Terre Haute, IN | July 3, 2011 - San Jose, California's Thomas Meseraull was LUCKY! In a race that should have NEVER been run in such conditions, Meseraull is fortunate that only his car got broken in an opening lap crash at the USAC Silver Crown Series at the "Action Track". See for yourself now bad it was and Meseraull's reaction...

A Legendary track that doesn't deserve to be lowered to this kind of shame!

Is the drag strip behind it suffer this bad? HA, that much dust in the air I bet people at the mall went into dust storm mode.

Um, it is USAC that is in control of THAT. They controlled the track prep. They have no one to blame but themselves. There are no track personel anymore. USAC controls the day to day operations of the track.

The county should have control of the day to day operations of the track not usac that or the fair board of vigo county.

I was still under the impression that Davey Hamilton and a few others guys controlled the track

USAC.. How not to grow our sport. I'm embarrassed. At least it looked like the grandatands were almost empty. What's wrong with the people that really pull the strings at USAC? If you don't give a shit, let somebody run it that does care. I'm glad T-Mez and all others are OK, but it shouldn't have happened.

Dirt track conditions are rarely perfect.

With that said, Terre Haute's track conditions were completely unacceptable!

I can't believe that Thomas Meseraull was so calm during his interview. The situation was outrageous!

I hope next time, USAC or whoever the governing body might be, has the courage to make the right call before someone destroys their car and or gets hurt.

Couldn't agree more with what Thomas Meseraull had to say. How the hell can USAC expect those drivers to go out there and race on that dry as shit track.

I can't believe any professionally run organization would put their people in a life threatening situation like that.

With bonehead calls like this it just proves why the Indianapolis Motor Speedway told USAC where to go and doesn't appear to be missing them much.

Did they not notice during hot laps that it was so dusty??? USAC should be the ones paying for that wrecked car. Glad no one was injured, looked like the rollcage was bent bad and any worse the driver wouldve been severly injured.
