Ahhh, the 23S beautiful in it's University of Illinois colors, another car missed from the sprint car landscape these days. Frankie Kerr had much success in that car unlike Jeffy G, lol. Pete/Lee, you might find this interesting, I once supplied an 11 x 14 of that car and it was buried with one of Stan Shoff's employee's, he was that big a fan of Frankie....

Jack Hewitt had some good runs in the car.

Does anyone know who the car builder was? I know, I was just curious if anyone else knows.

The car here is a Fred Kain car/chassis. Fred lived in or around Des Moines, IA.

I have to agree with Mike. Another car that is missed in the sprint car world, and always one of my favorites regardless of who was piloting it. I don't remember the year, but I do remember Jeff Gordon wadding up the 23s, going into 3, at the Nationals.

If anyone would like to restore one of the Kain cars I do have a frame "79 era" out back that would be a great start. Unfortunately everything else is pretty much gone.
