What has happened to Robert Mayson? Robert was an Ascot Guy, did the Eastern CRA/SCRA after Ascot and then Perris. Does anyone know what he is doing in the racing world? IMO, one of the Best PR Man the track/CRA every had. Race Fans should miss Robert and his writings.

Robert is a class act! Not only a walking sprint car encyclopedia and excellent journalist, but he is a heck of an announcer too. If all goes well, we may be blessed to hear Robert over the new PA at a couple of upcoming sprint car races at Victorville Raceway Park. This August I am finally going to fulfill a childhood dream of attending the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa. which I really wanted to get in while Steve and Sammy are still active and winning races (I missed seeing my all-time favorite Doug Wolfgang race at the historic 1/2 mile). While I'm in Iowa, I also plan to take full advantage of the Southern Iowa Sprint Week and catch the USAC National sprint cars at Knoxville, then the All Stars in the Front Row Challenge and the USAC National sprints in the Ultimate Challenge at Osky. Unfortunately, because of the timing of my trip, I will miss our back-to-back weekends of sprint cars at VRP. Robert was my first choice to fill in for me on the microphone. Some of you may remember the outstanding job he did in the booth a couple years ago when he called the Gardner/Faas races with Brad Doty.
