Never been to new egypt before, just wondering what I'm in for Sunday. Anybody have advice on seating, how early to show up, etc. Any thoughts, thanks.

Not sure what youre looking for as far as advice. Traffic can suck getting into the track. 539 is a two-lane highway that is relatively busy some days and, if the show is packed for the WoO, it can back up for a mile or two with cars getting to the track. Start time is listed as 6PM, so you might want to get there like 4 at the latest to avoid possible backups.

The stands are rather standard. They run from the 4th turn down the straighaway and into 1 and 2. There is a good sized section of stands in the pits down in turn 4 if you want to spring for a pit pass. That all depends on what perspective you like. And which way the wind is blowing. If tt's coming in from the shore to the east, the stands will be dusty as hell if the track is dry. The good news is (maybe) that there is periodical rain in the forecast. So, if the show doesn't get rained out, the track *might* be heavy. Watching them from turn 1 as they set up for the turn is something to see though.

The track is under new ownership this year and the new track crew has been having fits getting the surface right. Earlier in the year it was worse than a cornfield, coming up in HUGE chunks, and the last week or two they've packed it so tight that it's just a dustbowl. As stated before, hopefully a small amount of moisture during the day will make it heavy and racy.

If the rain doesn't keep me away I'll be there. Hope you enjoy your visit.
