(Chico, CA 5-18-07)…Chico's Stephen Allard led all 25-laps to win his first main event of the year at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night. Allard won a whopping $2,000 for his win with sponsorship help from Wittmeier Auto Center. "It's been a tough year so far but I'm going to go enjoy this win with my crew and family," said Allard in victory lane. In dirt-modified racing Chico's Richard Papenhausen won an exciting main event when he passed Mike Sohnrey for the lead late in the race. Kevin Bender won the 20-lap Dwarf car main event. All three divisions raced during point race number eight of the Feather Falls Casino championship series.

Allard took the lead from fellow front row starter Matt Shelton. Moving into second on the next lap was Jason Statler. Jonathan Allard quickly moved into the third spot and Greg DeCaires followed in fourth. The first 12-laps went non-stop with good racing and smart maneuvering by all 20 drivers that started the main event. However, a series of yellows would follow. Mason Moore clipped a white tire in turn two and stopped in the infield. Also stopping outside turn two was Eddie Lewis. Moore was able to continue on and proved to be one of the most exciting drivers during the night. Moore raced his way back to a tenth place finish.

On lap 13 the race was halted again when Trevor Green took a hard tumble down the front straight. Also involved in the accident was Jonathan Allard who went to the work area to fix his car. Green walked away under his own power but was later observed in a nearby hospital with back pain. At three in the morning Jon Allard picked up Green from the hospitol and Green was in good spirits even talking about racing the next night at Tulare. The race resumed with Stephen still leading the race. Now Brandon Wimmer had moved into the second spot and challenged for the lead. On lap sixteen Johnny Gray stopped to bring out another caution. On the restart Andy Forsberg started to find something on the top of the racetrack. Forsberg went from ninth to fifth but just as soon as he raced his way up to the front, he lost some momentum and drifted back. Forsberg ended up with an eighth place finish.

Back up front it was Statler who drove under Wimmer for the second spot. While everyone else was racing for position, Stephen Allard was the class of the field. He continued to extend his lead over the rest of the field. He worked his way into lapped traffic but handled the slower cars with ease. It was Allard's best run of the year and he looked like the Allard of old. He crossed the finish line with a 2.784 lead to get the win. "We brought on Larry Shelton a couple weeks ago and he'd doing a great job along with the rest of my crew," said Allard. "I also need to thank Skip Jones my car owner for getting us a great operation." Statler finished in the second spot while Wimmer ran third. Greg DeCaires finished a solid fourth in just his second run for the #24. Yuba City driver Korey Lovell ran an impressive fifth. Chico's Brett Miller passed the most cars. He went from his 18th starting spot to finish seventh.

Matt Shelton won the first heat race for the sprint cars. Mike Monahan held a sizeable lead to win heat race two. Eddy Lewis won the third heat race.

Wimmer led all 12-laps to win the B main event.

Wimmer also started the night off by turning the fastest lap in qualifying with a 12.197.

Richard Papenhausen Passed Mike Sohnrey on lap number eight to win the 15-lap dirt modified main event. The early leader of the race was Chico's Joe Flower. Flower led the first four laps until Sohnrey passed him for the lead. Sohnrey led the next four circuits until Papenhausen made the pass for the lead and ultimately the win. The win was on Papenhausen's birthday. "It's always good to race with Sohnrey he gives me a lot of room and I do the same for him," said Papenhausen. Sohnrey crossed the line in second and Flower held on to third spot. Randy McDaniel finished in the fourth spot while Chris Compton was fifth.

Papenhausen led all eight laps for the first heat race win. Randy McDaniel led all eight laps to win heat two.

Daniel Weger led the first lap of the Dwarf Car main event. Weger led the first six laps until he was involved in a seven-car pile-up in turn one. Kevin Bender was the new leader. Jeremy Blackshere moved into the second spot. Neil Stinson was in the third spot. The three put on an amazing race for the lead. The final ten laps saw the top three racing for the lead. Blackshere moved up Bender a few times but Bender was able to hold the lead. Bender kept the lead and never gave it up. Bender beat Blackshere and Stinson to the line.

Daniel Weger won the first heat race. Bender won the second heat.
