Can anyone help me with some fuel settings for ASCS 360 Dragon claw with 510 injectors, now barrel valve 18% secondary is 32 psi diaphram style with 68 jet, 66 main 72 Hi speed with 68 jet. I am getting blown away on restarts. Practice isThursday night, going to put a shut off on the secondary, so I can play with it.

I finally put a shutoff on the idle bypass that I could play with during hotlaps and found mine took off best with the lowspeed bypass disabled. Dan at wesmar suggested it/ I never would of thought of it. It worked.

Sounds like your secondary is set to high, I was also told to run that pressure but it runs way to rich at the bottom. Im down to 18lbs and my exhaust temp is still at 450 deg at idle with my egt gauge, my motor runs great but Im having trouble getting enough heat in the motor and Im contaminating my oil with fuel. Im dropping it to 15lbs next time out, Im going to keep leaning it at about 3lbs a pop until I nail it. That fuel shut off sounds like a quick and dirty way to get close, I would start it at full open position or just drop it down to 20lbs and see where yout at.
Good Luck

The secondary is not an idle bypass,it sounds like you need a softer spring in the main.

One question that I have is what type of gauge are you using to set your barrel valve? We had an engler and using a DSR gauge to set it we were typically in the 13-14% range. A good way to test it is in practice, shut your fuel shutoff to 3/4 closed to 1/2 closed and stomp on it...if it makes the car take off better then your barrel valve is too rich...you can also tell by your temp under caution. If your temp drops significantly under yellow then your too rich, if it maintains temp or goes up then you are lean.
You can also tell by feel. If you jump on the throttle and the motor stumbles to get up to power then your most likely rich ... if it falls on its face and then comes to life you are lean.
Typically your low speed doesn't assist much on take off...where it helps is when you are racing hard and jump out of the throttle and have to get back into it, it helps bypass the excess fuel.
Once you are close on the barrel valve, then tinker with the main pill spring etc to fine tune the last little bit.

I think you should check and see what dia.wire is used in your main jet holder as this will determine your idle fuel pressure. Typically you only see fuel pressure in the 4 to 6 pound range at idle and at 3000 rpm your fuel pressure on a 360 will be lees than 24 lbs with those nozzles. At idle or even low speed your fuel pressure isn't even close to being able to open your secondary bypass. To low PSI setting on your secondary could give you a real lean condition under acceleration when the motor is loaded the hardest. Check your idle fuel pressure as I said and back the barrel valve down to 16% what Density Altitude do you run at ? 68 jet in the main as pretty rich unlees your at or near see level and it's cold out. hope this helps.............

Doughboy gave you some good info.Your barking up the wrong tree and going at it the wrong way trying to use the secondary to fix your idle problems. They come with 35 lb. springs so they dont pop off at idle, only at hi rpm's when your off the pedal. When you get to the end of the straight and let off, your pump is still pumping fuel at a hi rate because it is turning over with the engine, but you don't need it to pump that much fuel because you are off the pedal, this is when your secondary comes in to play, this is it's one and only job to get rid of extra fuel at this time,hi rpm, butterflies closed. If you are milking up your oil,you need to get your injection right and soon or your bearings in your engine will soon be shot.

We run the same injectors 18% on the barrel valve no secondary bypass hi speed pops off at 86
62 pill in the main we run this on short tracks 1/4 and 3/8 exhaust temp in the feature 1120 --1180
what size track are you running on ? secondary bypass can cause lot of problems last 2 years we have ran without it you should use your shut off valve on yellows to
