In 2000 I was visiting relatives in Las Vegas. Instead of going to a casino on Saturday night I joined a friend to watch the races. Kyle was running a Legends car. While he was running 2nd he managed to get under the leader with two laps to go. He rode the leader all the way up to wall and then went on to win. When Kyle came down to get the checkered flag for a parade lap, they handed him the black flag instead. He was 15 years old at the time, he is like Dorian Gray, he hasn't changed a bit.

That's an awesome little story. Would love to seen a video of his reaction to that!

He revved it up and did a burn out. The crowd even then was not happy with his behavior. However my friend thought he was great. My friend has since passed on. I wonder how he would feel about Kyle now.
Talking about slow running events. That show didn't finish up until 12:30 at night.

I have been to ropings that started at 8am and finished at 3am the next day so I laugh when people complain about slow shows, lol! You get 2200 teams that that have 4 runs to do until they miss figuring 33% miss each go round it makes for a long day!

Kyle is just what NasCar needs, a bad guy. Earnhart was the guy you loved to hate, Stewart auditioned for the job but turned into a "nice guy".
So called reality shows always have a bad guy to get conflict in their show like the Dork with the big mustache on that bike show, otherwise where is the interest in watching. I quote the inimitable Robin Miller who said "we need more hate in racing". Kyle is the most exciting driver to come along in years. Do you remember the dustup between Showtimne and Hanson? That was just the thing to pique interest at the time.

There is a difference between being a bad guy, bad ass and so full of yourself you get people just pissed off at the thought of seeing you! Earnhardt was a bad ass! I can respect that! The bad guy and/or full of yourself guy I don't even want to see because their both dangerous in this sport!

Many of you may remember the Star Nursey car out of Las Vegas that was pretty much the class of the NASCAR Southwest Tour many years ago. A young guy named Chris Trickle (Dick Trickle's nephew) drove the car. Unfortunately Chris was shot one evening on his way to play tennis and died several months later. If I remember correctly one of the Busch brothers (perhaps Kurt) got the ride and the rest is history. They probably would have succeeded without access to the Star Nursery car (stuff does float and rise to the top and I'm not talking about cream); however, one has to wonder how long their journey to the top would have taken had Chris Trickle not been shot.
A perfect NASCAR Cup race for me would be with the two Busch brothers finishing 42nd and 43rd and taking each other out.

Kyle has a Barbie doll coming out. It whines and snivels.

Actually the doll is the third in a series. The 1st two were Andretti's.

Harryfan,
Your post reminds me of the four most often heard words at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway "...Andretti is slowing down."

Another statement may be added soon, "Junior finishes second again.". Although, with enough second's, you can win a championship. His father would probably roll over in his grave if it happens.
