Inside Line Promotions, TULSA, Okla. (June 2) – If you like fast cars, slide jobs, wheelies and everything else produced by a high-banked short track, look no further than the Eagle Nationals.
After a successful venture last year with the ASCS National Tour, TBJ Promotions has brought the famed two-day event at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., back on June 10-11. In fact, the races were so spectacular that they are again tabbed to be nationally televised on a tape-delayed basis by the VERSUS network.
“I think Eagle Raceway is one of the top facilities in the country and it deserves to have a national race,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “It’s really wide, high banked and a lot of the time the preferred line is right around the top. There will be a lot of slide jobs and a lot of action. Pretty much you can ask any single driver out there and they’re going to say Eagle Raceway is one of the funnest places to race at.”
Known as the “World’s Fastest Third Mile,” Eagle Raceway and the ASCS National Tour put on two of the most exciting races of the season last year. Bruce Jr. believes that combination will once again manufacture high-octane competition that will be hard to be duplicated anywhere else in the country.
“Obviously bringing the ASCS National Tour is bringing some of the best drivers in the United States,” he said. “And the local talent they have there knows how to get around that track. That’s one of the nice things about Eagle. They have a great local show and the Eagle Nationals pits the locals against the invaders.”
Additionally, TBJ Promotions is offering a special weekend pass. For adults, the cost is only $30 to watch both nights and it’s just $10 for children ages 6-12.
“In this time when everybody is struggling for cash, we want people to come in both nights, enjoy the racing and feel like they got a bang for the buck,” Bruce Jr. said. “My prediction is you’re going to have a hell of a time.”
The pit gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. each day with the front gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Racing is set for 7 p.m.
