I'll be in the area and cosidering driving a few extra miles to attend, but I need help understanding the schedule

June 3: Masters Classic - National Sprint Car Hall of Fame induction banquet plus 360 Knoxville Champtionship Cup Series

June 4: Knoxville Championship Cup Series #6 plus 305's

Questions....1. Are they racing the Master's classic race on Friday or just having a banquet? 2. Are they racing 360's on Friday and Saturday?

Jun 04 Lucas Oil Knoxville Championship Cup Series #6 plus 305's - Koopman Roofing & Insulation Night $15.00 $8.00 $4.00 NA NA NA $25.00

Same question but different: I'm planning on hitting Knoxville in August for Nationals, non-wing, 360s etc. but I'm curious about 4 days of Nationals (my first time)... so what happens the first 3 days? Do those races affect qualifying for grand finale? Is it all racing or is the first nite just Time Trials? in other words, give the new guy a basic rundown... thanks

You beat me to it. I was going to suggest the website for the raceway and under events if one were to go to the Nationals it gives a nice schedule of events and the format. The field is split for Wed and Thursday with complete shows both nights and then the Friday non qualifiers shows and other events are run, working down to the Alphabet events on Saturday night.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Every night is in your face top shelf Sprint Car Racing! If I had to skip a night it would be Friday! But I wouldn't want to skip it either unless I had to.

If you go to Knoxvilleraceway.com and click on 2011 Events, then on Masters Classic, they have some pre entrys listed. Not a lot at this point but Gary Wright is pre entered.

Didn't Cappy throw an Active Drivers clause into this years event? Would GW fall under this clause?

Check back everyonce in a while...I think Nationals is up to 5 pre-entered cars, with a very surprising entry from PA.

The rules apply to 410 races, not 360s

- Drivers must be age 50 or older, and must NOT have competed in more than ten (10) winged 410-cubic-inch sprint car feature races since June 3, 2009

I would guess Gary has not ran more than 10 410 races the past two years. Most have been in a 360.

It amazes me how a post starting out with someone asking a simple question about a sprint car show can quickly turn negative. Some people are pathetic at how negative they are. If you don't want to go a particular race that is fine, but why put down any type of sprint car race? I thought this was a message board for sprint car fans?!?!?!? With tracks closing left and right and teams folding or cutting back their travels all over the place, we have no room for negativity from you so called "fans". We get an average of 10 360 sprints at my local track and a bunch of fender cars. I happily pay my $12 at the gate, plus food, plus drinks just to be at the track. I will also be packing up and making the 5+ hour trip to Knoxville this weekend to enjoy some real sprint car racing with the family. $15 to see 40-50 plus sprint cars each night is a bargain no matter who is racing.

Man for a person with "racrfan" as there name I think thats a pretty shameful statement realizing that many of these guys hung there helmets up years ago and I think its pretty cool to see them jump back into a racecar well after there last days of competition. To see what sprint car racing is today you have to have a bit of respect for the research, development and innovation that came out of the days of old.

I have done the Masters Classic every year since we relocated here to Knoxville in 2001, think it is great. I also like going through the Sprint Car Hall of Fame during this time each year too and just looking for information on many of these guys that are running and back just for the event, it is great.

As for negative the lonely negative comment, probably some wanna-be racer that never made the B-Main and not refuses to smile, good role model.

My only problem with the Masters' Classic was trying to figure out who was in which car. Other than that - I enjoyed it thoroughly.
