Up Next At LoneStar Speedway: Longhorn Speedweek June 9, ASCS
June 11

DarinShort.com. Coming off of a succesful and exciting Memorial Day special event, two more special events are up next at LoneStar Speedway… but one thing you will not find at either of them are ‘special event’ ticket prices. Fans will enjoy ‘weekly’ ticket prices at the following two big events:

Thursday June 9th will be the first ever Longhorn Speedweek, which is the fifth leg of the COMP Cams SMP Series for modifieds presented by RHS. Also competing will be a complete show for the Limited Modifieds and the Factory Stocks. Fans can expect a large field of Modifieds to be on hand from across the region. The SMP tour opens on Sunday, June 5th and concludes on Saturday, June 11th. Please click

Then on Saturday, June 11th will be the final scheduled visit of The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Series sprint cars for 2011. Also competing will be the Limited Modifieds, Dirt Stocks and the Factory Stocks. The first ASCS event of the season at LoneStar provided an exciting night of racing with Gary Wright taking the popular win after driving from a fourth row starting position. Click

Normally, each of these events would carry ticket prices of $15. But LoneStar Speedway is holding the adult grandstand ticket prices to each event to just $10 to make it affordable to all racing fans.

Here are some quick facts for each event:

-Gates open at 5pm, with racing at 7:30pm.
-General Admission just $10 (ages 11 and older)
-Ages 10 and under admitted free with adult admission
-Upgrade any ticket to the reserved section for $5 per person
-Seniors/Military (Ages 65+, General Admission) $8

Everything is shaping up to be a great night of racing tonight, June 9th, at LoneStar Speedway as the SMP Series "Longhorn Speedweek" rolls into town.

Local standout, 18-year old Tyler "The Terror" Townsend, is really hitting his stride right now in the SMP Series and is fresh off winning last night's feature at Ardmore, OK. Click

Fans can expect drivers from several states to be on hand (TN, NM, TX, OK, AR, LA); including June 7th series winner Jason Hughes (OK), June 5th series winner Stormy Scott (NM); and a host of others including Trevor Egbert (TX), Peyton Taylor (AR) and TJ Herndon (TN). At the time of writing, Cowtown “regulars” Chase Allen and Jared Webb are presently 4th and 6th respectively in series points.
