Ventura went thru this a few years ago, but the whiners lost. Just some dork, probably a tree hugger.

you know, i never hear anything in that news piece that acknowledged the fact that the speedway is complying with state and local noise limits. i would think that john would have mentioned that, and wonder why it was not included in the piece.
to indy and beyond!!

Hoping this guy isn't successful in his drive to shut not only the speedway down but most events at the fairgrounds as well. I just wish that all cars racing at Ocean were made to run mufflers not just the sprint cars when the speedway was re-opened. The late models were always louder than the sprint cars. Finally, they were forced to purchase and run them and just recently were told only Flowmaster 53545-10 were legal no exceptions! Enforcing mufflers for all cars in the very beginning might of kept this guy from seeking legal council and petitioning to shut Ocean down.

ALL cars that race at Ocean have always been required to run mufflers. The Late Models were NEVER lounder than Spirnt Cars, We went with new muffler rule to help REDUCE the noise.

When the attorneys get involved, they weasel through many holes and can cause a shutdown of a track by attacking from more than one angle.
See Altamont Speedway for a classic example.
As always, follow the money...
