Last weekend saw Springfield, Illinois sprint car racer Jordan Goldesberry compete close to home at Jacksonville Speedway. Saddled for the second straight week with a poor pill draw, Jordan would launch his evening from the back of the third heat race. Despite pushing the Goldesberry Signs and Designs/Modern Paving and Scrap/GPC Race Products/Collision Care/Scott Performance #65 up to a 5th place finish, the 20 year old did not earn enough passing points to avoid having to race his way into the feature from the B-Main. After crossing the line first in the semi under flagman Randy Standridge's checker flag, Goldesberry would set sail in the feature from the outside 8th row. Using the high side, Jordan would bring the bright yellow and blue racer home in a solid 7th place.
This Friday the 13th of May will see Jordan back in competition at Jacksonville, as the Monster Energy Drink Midwest Open Wheel Association invades the Morgan County high banks for a $2500 to win show.
Racecar spelled backwards is racecar. Racecar upside
down is expensive.
