Ford power at the head of the pack.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I must say... I do love the witty comments around here!
Yes, Mitch Runge has a Roush Yates Ford.

That is correct, he did indeed make the switch from Wolfweld to Schnee. That was career win number 30 for Mitch and the team and it was a long time coming since number 29. They're entering this year with a renewed attitude and lots of horsepower (or at least enough hp anyway). Good luck to the Runge Racing Team!

Freddie ought to try a Ford. More than 1 win every several months might result. RoushYates would expect the bill to be paid though. I hear that might be an issue with the 51.

Anyone know why Gregg Bakker has not raced in Knoxville so far this year?

This guy gonna do it every year, a Roush Yates engine wins a race once a month and he's gonna tell us about it. Seems to be the same people who for 50 years have not wanted to talk about powerplants. Lets see, my comeback, did you know that 49 out of 50 engines powering race stockcars/sprint cars at Anytrack/USA, other than big time racing like NASCAR where the manufacturers pay them to drive a certain brand, anyway, 49 out of 50 are Chevy, and at least they are much more of a Chevy than Ford hiring some engine guru to make them a dirt track sprint car engine. Many of these Chevy engines are ones that have been pulled out of junked cars/pickups. Maybe you want to talk drag boats, or your local drag race track or demo derbies, whatever, stats the same.
Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

I would agree, 49 out of 50 (as you say) might in fact be Chevy engines. If so, don't you see how you are invalidating your point? If Fords are outnumbered 50 to 1 by Chevy then logically your going to see more Chevy's in victory lane. I'm not quite sure where your going with Chevy's being more Chevy then Ford being Ford. While you may tag any sprint car motor as a Chevy, Ford, Mopar because of the block that it's built from, lets not be fooled, these are purpose-built racing engines. In fact I don't hear drivers in victory lane say "this chevy motor ran great tonight" rather, what I hear is "this Wesmar motor ran great tonight".The days of pulling the motor out of an El Camino are long gone, at least for those who want to be competitive at more than just their local track once a week, and even then, your not going to Knoxville or PA with the backyard special and expecting it to be competitive.
Really what it comes down to is that when somebody with a Ford parks it in victory lane, people are going to talk about it simply because it's different then what is normally in victory lane, that's it. Same as any other part of racing, like tires, shocks, chassis etc... Chevy's no doubt have the proven track record, and dominate sprint car racing, nobody can argue that. But lets even the Ford/Chevy ratio to 1 to 1(or25 to 25 as you might say) and see how quickly Ford catches up in the win column.
Just to stir the pot a little bit, the guy we're talking about in this post, the one who just won with a Ford at Huset's, also has a very stout "Chevy" engine. It's sitting on an engine stand in the shop.

Maybe they are ashamed to show us that the results above are complete? 10 cars, wouldn't surprise me.

The Husets Speedway has produced some awesome racing over the years. If I were in a position to build a new track, I would study the Husets layout.
With that said, some of their management practices have left me "scratching my head". Race tracks, including Husets still need work hard to attract race teams and fans. They "can't rest on their laurels". They need to give race teams and fans a reason to attend.
Hoping that the local support base is a slam dunk is reckless. Pretending that no one will notice is stupid.
They need to post a full set of results every week; they need to continue working to attract race teams and fans; they need to understand that in this down economy, nothing is automatic. Easier said than done...
The other decision that I question is their re-newed alliance with IMCA. I can't stand IMCA's claim rule, so I am obviously biased. I think IMCA's claim rule is a creative idea, but when practiced has failed to reduce costs and has fostered unwanted drama.
Will Runge's new ford be claim eligible, when the IMCA transition is fully implemented? Why does Husets need IMCA? Insurance...seriously??
I realize that sprint cars are ridiculously expensive, especially the engines. I realize that we aren't doing enough about costs.
I realize that the answers aren't easy, but I'm confident that IMCA is more interested in their pockets than they are about those who faithfully support the Husets track family.

Aaaaahhh yes, Huset's must have opened...........so many questions and no answers coming. Typical. I did attend (why? who knows..........) and they did have 16 participants in the 410 Sprint Car class and 12 in the IMCA 360 class. FORD, on another message board, the track rep says they are having troubles with their computer program so the complete results are not yet available, what ever that means.
IMCA has really altered their claim in the last year going so far as to not allow any claiming late in the season last year. If someone does claim, the claimee does the the option of an engine trade. My personal reason on why they are going IMCA is that in the next 5 years, Rubin wants all racers to run his idea of an engine, the 5.3 Schwankee. He is going to try and force this down everyone's throat as he has been trying to do for years. If you read the IMCA release about this, it all but says it. I think they will try and put so many rules on any other engine combo that only their slinkee will be competitive. We have five years to see how this plays out.

jholz, maybe because it's Sunday and maybe even that it was Mother's Day. The guy that does Huset's site is terrible. Don't know who they have but their site has been crappy for years. Get a new web master.

With the names that were gonna be there and them not showing, I decided against writing your season opening Big J Report. It looks like I have become the most reliable way of transferring results to the fans now, huh?
Also, big congrats out to LDA_24 for the new addition to the family this morning!

It tells me that between crappy payouts and stupid engine rules (both 360 and whatever the 305 wanna be class is) they are killing their car counts.
By killing their car counts they are killing ticket sales slowly but surely.
Why o why can't they stick to the same classes/rules as the other tracks in the area?
IMO, I don't think Huset's can survive another 5 yrs of the same management.
