Saw he invaded Lernerville last night and won. Man this guy is like a Timex watch, he takes a licking and keeps on ticking. He keeps racking up wins despite recovering from injuries from last year and racing with minimum funding. He truely is one of the all time greats in Sprint Car racing.

"...one of the all time greats in Sprint Car Racing..."
Without a doubt.
Too bad the NSCHoF Induction Voting Panel seemingly doesn't know that.

Are you serious, he is not in the HoF? I just assumed he was. Not sure how many wins he has, but he has been winning for almost 35 years both here and Australia. Let's get the man voted in!!!!!

I'm not real sure how old Danny is. Is he eligible? He is certainly H of F material.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Amazing that he was able to return from that nasty trip at Attica.

I don't think he is as old as Swindell or Kinser, but he is in his 50's, probably around Rahmer's age so he is old enough to be eligible for the HOF.

Has done more with less for years and one of the class acts in the sport, wicked sense of humor to boot, wish he'd write a book. Take It Easy...

Danny is definitely a living legend. I'd like to see he and Argabright put a book together as I'm not near as familiar with his career as I am Steve or Sammy. It amazes me as much as I hear how Danny smokes, he looks to be in real good shape. He def. deserves a spot in the Hall.

I went to Danny Smith's birthday party one year at the Devil's Bowl after a WoO race - I think. Unfortunately I can't remember what year that was or how old he was (I've slept since then). I'd guess late 70's to early 80's - and I'd guess maybe 21 yrs. old at the time - since they made a big deal about it - but it could have been 18 yrs old. So he would be around 50 at a minimum - I'd guess. Doesn't he have a web site that would tell? I have dial-up (I know - archaic) but some of you speedy guys could probably find out.

Middle in the back.
Of this bunch, 4 are still actively racing, Danny Smith being one.
As a sidenote, the guy in the gawdy tie made sprint car racing a good thing while he was around. Need another gentleman like him to bring back the fun into sprint car racing for sure.

Think about this for a second: Danny, Sammy and Steve are all in their mid fifties and are still winning races like they did in their 20's. I guess they are like a good bottle of wine, they get better with age!!!

Stories have been told that when he's in Australia, he by far more popular than Kinser or Shatz. After the races, fans dont even notice those two exist! They're all hauling ass to Danny hauler!

Danny has had some "good" ride but there was always something missing. Danny is like sammy he is hand on. Sammy has had better career then what danny has had. Danny just has something missing. I don`t know what. When he is racing with the local guy he is good. But when he is racing with the big boys he is not playing in the same sand box. Nice guy! I have known danny since about 77 or so when he first went fulltime. He has 8 career outlaw wins. He should have more. Why he does not. have more does not make since.

As stated above, over the last 20 years he has done more with less. Just read in this week's AARN that he recently turned 54. I bet it has been at least 15 years since he had a QUALITY top notch ride. Don't mistake his career thinking he has had the "Gambler House Car" his whole career, he hasn't. If I am not mistaken, he won a few All Star races only a couple of seasons ago. So winning 4 straight races over the last two weekends regardless of the competition is still pretty impressive.
