Kittle Motorsports/Danny Sheridan change

May 6, 2011 - OFFICIAL press release from Kittle Motorsports/Danny Sheridan.

The Kittle Motorsports/Danny Sheridan released some shocking, or maybe not so shocking news today. Having struggled financially the past two years, and running with limited funds in 2010, it is amazing they finished in second place in the USAC/CRA season last year. Now the team has announced that they will scale back from 410 racing.

“After several meetings with our team members, it was unanimously decided that it was the right time to liquidate some of our assets”, said Randy Shiosaki the team’s manager.

Plans to sell the hauler, trailer, and some 410 related equipment are underway. The team will continue operating but will focus more on the USAC West Coast 360 series with a scaled down program.

Could it be that a reduced purse was a straw that broke a camel's back? We all have been witness to a team that surviving and thriving on very little money for awhile now. I hope that isn't the start of anything.

Very sad news indeed.. But it seems that this is the way things are going . The 410 series is slowly but surly dieing on the west coast. This is some sad times for the 410's on the West coast. I agree Rob time to take up fishing :-) Good luck Kittle Motorsports on the 360 racing .

Looking forward to seeing you guys at the USAC 360 shows! Looks like that very competitive series just got a whole lot tougher.

First we lose Kruseman, now Sheridan, who's next? I know of a couple teams that are looking at making the move too just so they have cash flow to keep running. Thanks USAC.

Good luck to Sheridan/Kittle. Great team. I am sure they will do well on the 360 circuit. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Showtime was at Santa Maria tonight doing a charity fund raiser with drag racer Ron Capps for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Stands =packed= for a dirt modified show tonight; only half to two-thirds full for the USAC 360s a few weeks ago. Taxicabs race on big-time TV, ya know. 95% of the population doesn't know what a sprint car =is=.

"95% of the population dosen't know what a sprint car is"bingo there's your answer.I would think the "promoters" and clubs would try to rectify that problem. but what the hell do I know?

Very depressing news!! The car count shrinks yet again!!

My dad is turning over in his grave right now. Our brand of racing is slowly dying out!!

We all need to start bringing new people to the track every chance we get, otherwise things are invariably going to get worse.

I just wish I had the money, I hate to see this happen!!
