After going 0 for April, the Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series (UMSS) will attempt to get the 2011 racing season underway at the Ogilivie Raceway on Saturday evening May 7. Both the winged and non-winged (TSCS) divisions will be in action at Ogilvie. Pit gates open at 3:00, hotlaps are scheduled for around 6:00 with racing to start at 6:30. Ogilvie typically does not hotlap their regular weekly divisions, so the sprint cars likely will be the only class to hotlap. We will have to wait and see where the sprint cars are in the order of events for the evening, but the winged sprint car heat races should be fairly early in the program. Based on car count, the anticipated program for the winged sprints will be three heats, two challenge races, and a feature event. The TSCS sprints will likely run one heat and a feature. Here's to fantastic weather and racing this Saturday at the Ogilvie Raceway! For more information on the UMSS, please visit our website at www.umsprints.com and click on the division you are interested in or check out the UMSS on Facebook. See you at the races.
