It seem's like this is happening more and more, why would it be so difficult to start races earlier when their is a curfew involved ?

It was both. Allard got upside down with 5 mins until track curfew and the excessive tirewear prompted the race to end on lap 29. The race was not finished for both reasons.

They had time. I doubt it was curfew.
11:15 is reasonable. And Trophy Cup they have ran over. Never know Mr. Faria to call a race at 11 sharp.

This is what was posted on several sources, so someone must have been saying something at the track:
Kyle Larson Racing
"Well the race was 5 minutes from curfew and called for "excessive tire wear" tk won tarlton 2nd and kyle 3rd."

I never post or reply in forums, but I feel I must let the racing fans know the reason the race was called Sat. night. It was NOT the curfew, the decision to call the race was made by a KWS offical. Steve Faria

The USAC race was called because it had reached it's time alloted and continued to have excessive yellow flags. Some nights go that way and others we have no issues.
Hopefully next time will go smoother.

sometimes track conditions do not help the so called excessive yellow flags which then gets us into the alloted time limit which at times is unrealistic,i say this because it looks odd to call usac race just past half way and then turn around and roll the next main out and take the time to announce them etc etc.
i guess what i see happening is usac getting the stepchild treatment and as a crew chief it does get under my skin somewhat,we have a raindate to make up which i have been told will be made up on july 16th when we are at hanford for a usac 360 full program and we will also run our makeup mains on the same night?
i think we should have rescheduled a complete show on one of our off weekends since the rainout show was not a normal show for usac since we were denied qualifying and made to run a pill draw show, this is not normal for usac and denied the teams the chance for qualifying points and given the conditions made for single file heats.
asking the teams to run 2 main events is asking alot for some small teams, the worst part being if something happens and car cannot be repaired that night a driver may miss the second night and the points that can be earned that night,i dont think putting teams in bad odds is the right thing but this is just my view.
thanks

If you ask me USAC IS a red headed stepchild and SHOULD be treated as such. But that's just me :-).....

Well i guess when you are running the show and paying the track bills you can decide if you want to spend the extra money to run an entire show for free, instead of doing your best to accommodate the fans and racers while still trying to keep your operating costs reasonable.
If you are not happy with the current hanford promoter, maybe you would rather go back to the former one?

mister hammer im not unhappy with any track owners i am only trying to get a good situation for all.
in response to spending the extra money to run an entire show for free im not sure what you are saying or thinking since if he has us back on one of his other race dates and ads us to the event it is no loss for him since our purse is still sitting in limbo from the rainout date as well as our pit passes.
again this is no swing at the track operators i am only expressing my thoughts in hopes of being heard and being allowed to work with the operators to make the shows bigger and better for all.

It is in the best interest of most to add the B and Main to a show you will be at already based on making sure teams that planned a schedule and may have other races to attend. Being a Friday we gained some Ventura.
This date was chosen after talking to teams that do not race with the series full-time were considered. Moose I feel your frustration and understand. This is just a crappy situation.

Having sat thru way to many 40-60+ minute A-mains lately I am really becoming a proponent of time limits on races. We have all sat thru the "heat race from hell" at least 2 or 3 times a season. put a strict time limit on them and they go away. You can make exceptions in cases of red flags, stop the clock for a flip or a fire, but there have been a few times where even reds get out of hand. If track conditions are that bad and cars are flipping all over then wouldn't it be smarter to cut a race for track conditions than to try and run a full 30 lapper and wipe out 2/3 of your field? With time limits on races I would almost bet the dreaded fuel stop would be a thing of the past.
