How many travelers will show up this year?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 4/17/11

Port Royal – The All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Bob Weikert Memorial coming up at Port Royal Speedway on April 30 could turn out to be worth nearly $8,500 for one lucky sprint car driver.

The 30-lap Weikert race will not only pay $5,000 to win but thanks to Weikert’s Livestock of Fairfield and a conglomeration of nationwide sponsors, each of the first 29 circuits will be worth $100 to whoever leads them.

And on top of that, Weikert’s and their family of supporters has posted another $500 for the leader of the most important and final lap, already worth $5,000.

That means at the very least, the winner is guaranteed some $5,500 for his 30-laps of work but if he can manage to lead more than the final lap, he could grab up to an additional $2,900.

And that’s not too shabby!

The Weikert’s family of sponsorship contributors to the event is impressive: Richard Childress Racing, Welcome, NC; Scott’s Body Shop, Gettysburg, PA; Miller & Associates Real Estate, LLC., Gettysburg, PA; S&B Livestock, Inc., Herndon, PA; South Branch Livestock Exchange, Moorefield, WV; Virginia Livestock Inc., Front Royal, VA; Virginia Cattle Company, Radiant, VA; Craig Livestock Market, Shippensburg, PA; Greencastle Livestock Market, Greencastle, PA; Hickory Bridge Farms, Orrtanna, Pa; Nicholas Packing, Loganton, PA; JAB Hauling, Jersey Shore, PA; Folkens Brothers Hauling, Lester, IA; Joel Stein Showhorses, Gettysburg, PA; Stan’s Beverages, Carlisle, PA; Holtapp Trucking, Pomeroy, IA; Weiss Trasport, Hills, MN; JW Trueth Inc., Baltimore, MD; High Plains Feedyard, Montezuma, KS; Irsik & Doll Feedyards, Garden City, KS; Century Golf Partners/Arnold Palmer Golf Management, Orlando, FL; Diedrichsen Cattle Company, Neligh, NE; Roth Racing, Fresno, CA; Steve K. Bierly Trucking, Mill Hall, PA; Roadcap Livestock, Harrisonburg, VA; Heritage Cattle Company, Garden City, KS; M&R Livestock, Inc., Gettysburg, PA; Highland Farms, Gettysburg, PA; Weikert’s Livestock, Inc., Fairfield PA; Upper Marsh Creek; Gettysburg, PA.

The Weikert Memorial is run in honor of late former car owner Bob Weikert who throughout his decades-long, prolific reign as the owner of the legendary Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 sprinter in central Pennsylvania and across the nation, always found his way back to race regularly at Port Royal Speedway.

And one of his favorite groups of competitors to race with as a car owner aside from the Port Royal contingent was the All Stars.

So, the traveling band along with Port Royal regulars and others from around the midstate will gather to vie for bragging rights in this year’s race coming up in two weeks.

Plus, fans who gather to take in the spectacle have plenty to look forward to aside from a host of exciting racing action.

Courtesy of Weikert’s Livestock, 10 lucky youngsters will take home free bicycles with five girls and five boys bikes slated to be given away at intermission.

On top of that, Weikert’s is offering beef giveaway prizes to general admission fans as just one more way of commemorating the memory of sprint car and promotion legend and pioneer Bob Weikert.

Weikert’s massive Beef Night programs at Port Royal Speedway in the 1990’s were some of the most extremely popular local promotions ever to be held in the area.

Gates for the Weikert Memorial will open at 5 PM with time trials slated to get underway at 7 PM. Adult General Admission will be $20.00 with students ages 12 – 17 admitted for just $10.00. Kids under 12 are free.

Now even more $...thanks Allan!

The All Star Bob Weikert Memorial is getting even richer! Thanks to Hoseheads.com and founder Allan Holland, each of Saturday night’s heat races in the Weikert Memorial will pay $50.00 to win. All told to date now, the Weikert Memorial boasts $5,300 in contingency monies including an additional $2,100 to win on top of the already posted $5,000 plus $100 to set fast time and $100 to the leader of each of the first 29 laps in the 30-lap main, all courtesy of Weikert’s Livestock and Weikert’s family of associate sponsors. A sweep by one driver of fast time, his heat and every lap of the feature would now net him $10,150!

And some for the fans too!

HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN GIVEAWAYS AT WEIKERT MEMORIAL, KEEN MACHINE AND WALKER WILL SPORT WEIKERT’S NO. 29 SCHEME

29FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 4/24/11

Port Royal – The 410 sprint car drivers won’t be the only ones with a chance to walk away from the All Star Bob Weikert Memorial with a haul on Saturday as fans stand to win and pocket some loot too.

Todd Weikert and the Weikert’s Livestock family will graciously give away five girls bicycles and five boys bicycles at intermission during the Weikert Memorial, run to honor Weikert’s patriarch, late and great car owner Bob Weikert.

In addition, just like Bob Weikert himself used to do at his famous Beef Night promotions at the speedway, Weikert’s will give away prize packages of beef worth hundreds of dollars to fans during the event.

Up for grabs will be 20 prize beef packages including five-pound boxes of hamburger patties and 10-pound boxes of hot dogs.

Weikert’s massive Beef Night programs at Port Royal Speedway in the 1990’s were some of the most extremely popular local promotions ever to be held in the area.

Plus, fans who gather to take in the spectacle have plenty to look forward to on the track.

As part of a conjoined effort between Weikert’s Livestock, the Weikert family and current car owner Jesse Keen, fans will get to see the famed, legendary Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 circle the track just one more time.

Keen’s customary No. 17 driven by Tyler Walker will carry the Weikert’s colors and number for the event as a way of paying homage to the always powerful and proud car owner Bob Weikert and his iconic No. 29 red, white and blue sprint cars.

Keen’s Weikert’s car will be schemed after perhaps one of the most identifiable versions of the machine through the years, that of the historic seasons when Midwestern pilot Doug Wolfgang dominated sprint car racing across the nation in the mid-1980’s aboard the terrorizing Weikert No. 29.

And if ever there was a present day example of the kind of driving talents Weikert looked for, it certainly can be found in Keen driver Tyler Walker.

Gates for Saturday’s $7,100 to win, $100 to lead a lap, 30-lap All Star Bob Weikert Memorial open at 5 PM with time trials slated for 7. Adult General Admission is $20.00 with students admitted for just $10.00.

A sweep by the winner of all 30-laps plus fast time would garner some $10,100.

Still another way for drivers to win has come up for this Saturday’s Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. Keizer Aluminum Wheels will be honoring the memory of the late car owner at Saturday’s All Star Weikert Memorial by giving away a pair of free front Keizer wheels to finishers 2 and 9, in honor of the Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 sprinter that was so famous. Each wheel is valued at $185 and the winner can choose from any size in Keizer’s inventory. Certificates for the wheels will be distributed to the lucky second and ninth feature finishers. The newly added $370 giveaway value from Keizer has now pushed the total of contingency money and prizes slated to be distributed at the Weikert race up to some $5,670. The winner of the 30-lap feature is guaranteed at least $7,100 and with laps 1 – 29 each paying $100 to lead, a payday for one driver of $10,000 or more is entirely possible. Heats will pay $50 to win courtesy of Hoseheads.com and the Weikert’s fast time award will be worth $100.
Hearing fast time is up to $300...
