When Tony Pre-Entered, he did say IF he could get his engine finished!!! Those things happen. A couple of guys were kind enough to drop a note that last minute things popped up with Easter plans with family. We understand, and want to Thank all that did Pre-Enter and those that did Race.....We want all Sprint Car teams to know that "VRP" can be their second home. Watch out guys!!! There are some young guys coming up that will be the stars of tomorrow.....Congrat's to Austin Williams....and how about 3rd going to Bobby Bender 360 picking up that extra Top Placing 360 Money!!! Shows "VRP" is a Fast Drivers Track....Thanks again guys, and have a Happy Easter!!!!!

I MY SELF DID NOT THINK THAT 22PLUS CARS WOULD SHOW UP..., THAT IS A LONG DRIVE FOR ONLY 17 CARS THAT DID SHOW UP.. FROM LAKESIDE TO VRP IS ABOUT 300 MILES ROUND TRIP FOR ME,, AND I JUST CAN'T JUSTIFY MONNY OUT OF POCET UNLSS THAY CAN GUARANTEE A FULL FIELD OF CARS.. AND I DON'T MIND 360s MIXED WITH THE 410s just need a full field of cars,, may be when the weather warms up a little,,,,they will come,,, and so will I,,,,,,,,,ZZ

On a side note.....There are going be some great 2nd generation Racers coming up the 410 ranks with Austin, Cody, and Logan Williams, not to mention Maverick, and Chasen Gaunt......That's 5 new 410 Racers...."VRP" is proud to be the Track to support these boys, so they can get that valuable seat time, and grow the 410 Sprint Cars........

Harryfan
Why are you singling out Tony for not showing up ?? There was supposed to be 22 cars that showed up. Now you say that there was only 17 so who were the others ? Since its such a big importance that you had to single Tony out for not showing up I will be glad to call him in the morning to find out why he did not show up just so everyone on here knows why he was not there.

Sorry, I did not mean to pick on Tony. John (nose2tail) was correct in his assessment about the neighbor thing. Tony is one of those that we all love and respect because they show up to race, knowing that it will be tough to go beyond being an "alsoran".
To be sure, the cars that were there put on a very entertaining show.
John Aden was especially busy, he was putting on a show at the adjoining track, doing track maintenance all while earning a 2nd lace in the main.
The cars that Ricky Gaunt's boys were in were beautifully turned out with red frames and yellow bodywork proudly displaying Gaunt Construction on the side.

I'm sorry if I sounded kinda harsh. Was not my intentions just seen that Tony was the only name that got put out there for not showing up. I do work on Tony's car when I do get to the track. So I know that there must have been a reason that he did not show. Sorry Harryfan no disrespect meant to you :-) By the way Harryfan we do have a mutual friend he used to drive the #98 Sprinter ...

I heard another car that was to show couldn't due to a water main rupture at their residence. The more important question is why didn't more of the regulars show up in the stands!
Austin was flying! I don't know how he could have drove any harder then he did! Maybe it needs to be Neetra's birthday every Saturday night! Logan Williams and the Gaunt kids looked great! Even the parallel parking on top of turn 1 was impressive. In 25 years of spectating I can say I've never seen that happen!
It was good to see Ronnie Case back in the car again! I have to say that my eyes were glued on Logan and the Gaunt kids so im not sure how anyone else looked or drove but these three are off to a good start. Now its time for them to earn a good nickname for themselves.
The best part is these kids wont be known for being whiners! They are out there Doin it as opposed to bitching how many cars showed up or not. They by being there are part of the solution not a part of the problem!

I am just glad I went to Ventura. Good show 25 sprint cars and 22 midget. If I had gone to Victorville only 17 sprint cars. What happened to the 22 "for sure cars"?

It just happens that one of those "for sure" cars won the main at Ventura. Congratulations to Brody Roa.

The best part of this is if you live in SoCal you now have three spectacular tracks to watch open wheel racing within 2 hours drive!
Next we need to see:
Sprints
Non Wing Lightnings
Focus Midgets
JR Focus
VRA Midgets
Flying Fossils
On the same night!
That would make for a night to remember!

cuddoes to the track crew for an awesome track all night. also i want to congradulate all that showed up and made the trip from where ever they hauled from. we made the trip from Ramona, and will do it again for sure. 2.5 hrs vs 4.5-5 hrs to ventura. . i'm not sure if we were the only 360 or if there were others, but getting that little extra perk was certainly nice. i also want to thank Bobby Michnovich for helping to reassmble the rear end after spitting out the torque tube during wheel packing. A fun night of racing for sure.

Rich...
Bobby did an amazing job Saturday! To the best of my knowledge, the closest 360 behind him was 10th. There were some potent 410's in the field too. Glad you guys came out and enjoyed the evening. The track was amazing...especially tacky and smooth despite all the high winds! Hope you guys come back again. And again, my apologies for announcing him A.J. for half the race...bad notes...glad someone corrected me.

thanks, Doug, no problem on the name. unfortunatly we have to have the boys share the ride this year. maybe next season they will both have their own car, but comin g out of the lightning sprints we had to ease our way into this new class. you probalby had AJ from the usac show we did there a few weeks ago. i keep telling the boys im going to get a sign for the car that says "This weeks Driver" just so we can keep it straight.
