Nice job Bullet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope they let you run the whole race a few more times this year. Surely the difference in pay on a top 20 finish versus 43rd place is enough to pay a pit crew and buy tires and fuel.
Sprint car nation is proud of you today Dave. We always knew you had the ability....hope the opportunity lasts.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Actually finished 26th, which paid about $100K; start and park money (40th-43rd) is about $70K.
So with the additional $30K in earnings, the team had to buy at least 5 sets of tires @ $2500/set, or $12.5K; crew expenses probably another $10K, motor rental for the full race at another $20-30K; I'd say that it's likely that the team spent more money by racing than they would have made by doing an S&P.
But that's not to say that I didn't enjoy seeing Dave up front!

It was great to see the "Buckeye Bullet" up front today! Too bad Kurt can't push a car...he spun at least 3 today.

Dave ran well enough to earn a post-race interview on TV, where he displayed what a class act he is, basically taking the blame himself, while admitting that he was mad and dissapointed.
Said he had a run on the 24 & 5, they blocked and he had to lift, causing the 22 to get into him.
What a shame, he definately had a top 10, probably a top 5, and if he caught the right breaks, who knows.
But, yeah, 22 spun 3 cars on the day, one being his own team mate, and caused 2 of the biggest wrecks all race. All while trying draft. Appearently he needs to go to RPDE or something.

They scored JJ 26th with Dave 27th, and they were both on the lead lap... Anyone know why Bill Elliott gave up the ride he bought early on, and let JJ back in the seat?

My guess is.....They got Elliot to qualify the car, that way if they didn't make it in on speed, they'd have a Champions provisional to get in for the owners points.
Not sure why they'd switch drivers during the race.
I could be wrong.

Not to nit pick, but one thing you left out of the equation is the TV time that Dave's sponsor received by him competitively running up front. Hopefully that will open the sponsor's eyes to spend more money on the team.

Possibly - but not always probably.....just sayin'...But since Golden Corral was on the car at Daytona, too, I'd be willing to bet that they're already signed for all of the plate races.
