A lot of people got interested in sprint car racing when it was on every week, I even watched after knowing the results from the previous weekend. I have heard all kinds of excuses why Speed Channel can't do it or other Networks, But why could TNN later called the Outdoor Channel do it ?

TNN became "the National Network", and eventually Spike TV, not the Outdoor Channel. They had an angel with sponsorship bucks.....
And if you want to pony up the $$$ to sponsor sprint car racing on TV, I'm sure that any number of cable networks would be willing to take your money. Not being a smarta**, just stating the facts. Sprint cars aren't on TV because it's not financially viable.......

Well the outdoor channel is now Versus. There sprint car coverage is sponsored by Lucas Oil. An oil made in the USA.
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

I wish someone could bring back the old Slick 50 series for the winter, and be televised of course.

The Outdoor Channel is not Versus, they are two different channels.

This cable entity .... what ever it was, has been or is now know as ....has changed names, ownership and (programing format) for the last 20 years or so .... more times than my bank has changed names and owners.
It is too bad because at times (early on especially) it offered some pretty entertaining auto sports.
Yes.... sprint cars are a tough sell to the big $$$ advertisers it takes to make a viable programming business plan.
When you read what CBS/Warner Bros. is offering that knucklehead Charlie Sheen pershow (press release said 2 1/2 million $$$ PER SHOW that was CBS's press release not Sheen's) can anything make sense for a small viewer market TV show to try and sell to advertisers ??
