Only (12) 410 sprint cars, pretty piss poor, no wonder why nobody goes to the friday night point shows anymore.

Dennis Gage is the promoter at Silver Dollar. Nice to see Jimmy Sills slinging mud in a sprint car race again!

Oh yeah. Now we need to see Jimmy Sills slinging mud in a 410 winged sprint car against BK, TK, Tarlton, Larson, Statler, and the rest of the King of the West Sprints. Now that would draw a big crowd to see Sills back in the saddle of a winged 410 sprint car.

Again...
Handy is no longer promoting Silver Dollar Speedway. That's Dennis Gage, now.

I know that....... but Handy drove it to what it is now. Hopefully Dennis Gage can work with Dan Simpson & KWS and bring back their 410 program. If not, they may have to switch to 360's as 12 cars per week is not going to cut it. That is worse than Skagit's weekly program ... which is not much better.

Yeah I was there Friday night and it was pretty sad. 12 cars and a track that was so bad there were only 2-3 passes in the entire A-main. Gauge definitely needs to undo the damage done by Handy and do a little better track prep. Hopefully as the season goes on things will get better...

Why is it handy problem on the track prep? He was not there watering the track friday! We need Paul mac to come out and take out the water truck and then we can go Racing lol

We are putting together a old Jb chassis to sail off the end of turn 4 next week aiming for the water truck.
It aint a fight unless the helmets are off.

You all need to get you heads out of your asses. Handy had nothing to do with the shape SDS is in. He tried to save it, because the old fair management wanted the Padjen's out. The new fair management was unwilling to work with Handy, and created more problems than it was worth. If you look at it, it is still the same people running the place that have always been there during the Padjen's era, through Handy's run and now are Dennis Gage's problem. Nothing has changed other than the name of the Promoter. Same people running it into the ground, think about out, get rid of the freeloaders and handouts, and run it like a business. It may be cliche, but there are to many Chefs and not enough cooks in the kitchen, and unfortunately the track is going to continue down this path.

Explain
this to me! Why can we only have the sprint cars run 2 hot lap sessions
and never have tried more? Its a simple fact of cars and laps to get
the track ran into race condition.
Some GSC races get 30+ cars, so here is a comparison: 4 groups, 8 cars per group for hot laps, (6 or so laps per group) = 192 total laps made by all cars most times they will have groups 1 and 2 go again for a short session (3 or so laps per group) = 48 more laps for a total of 240 laps made before qualifying starts. Last weeks Friday night show (13 cars) 2 groups, 7 and 6 cars per group for hot laps, (6 or so laps per group = 78 total laps made by all cars this time they had a groups go a second time which would only be 2 groups for another 6 or so laps. This total is 156 total laps before qualifying starts.
With less cars means less heat races which means even less laps before the main events. The
summarize everything, I think the track conditions need to change which
means less water added before the races. Lets get the officials to have
a lets make this track better attitude and less of a lets just the the
show over so I can go home.
The scary thing is this was only the
2nd points race, car counts only decline throughout the season! I don't
see how we will have more than 12 cars for this Friday nights program!
***
More thoughts.... Why cant anyone figure out how to fix the scoreboard
problem??? We have been racing how many weeks??? How about the website!
As of today, it shows the point standings with just numbers and not
names! Is someone really that lazy that they cant enter full names but
just numbers into the information field?? Really??? Come on!
What improvements have been made this year???? Exactly!...... lets continue this downward spiral!
It's easy to do the math on your profit/loss on a nightly basis!
300 people in the stands with a top ticket price of $12 ea. = $3600 39 cars in pits with a average pit fee of $40 with 4 people per car = $6240
Maybe if lucky you guys are bringing in $10,000 per night with front and back gate income and the meager concession sales you have.
Your average total purse pay out is almost that in a night!!!
This
doesn't include out of pocket insurance fees, vendor expenses, payroll
for employees, track fees to the state, fuel for equipment, and your
standard track up keep and utilities.
How long can the bleeding last before you either fold up or make a drastic change???
Silver Dollar staff please do something or at least show us some effort!

Well...I was there on friday night...so...
I will 1st say the "Professer" looked real good all night and was amazed he could still drive a car in that deep and make the moves he did, wow..it was worth the price of admission.
I too was disapointed at the 410 car count....but you know it was still a good night of racing in Chico...
I am also worried about the track prep and/or surface as all year it has been a heavy, fast, one lane track with a little "cowboy boy" up in there too...just like the old days....only thing is, this ain't the old days...these cars now a days are hooked up too much...we need it to slick off a little bit so there can be a little more passing...
I also thought though....it has been raining a lot this year so far so maybe that is some of it....it also is early in the year and we all know how chico is in the first couple of months of the racing season...I also agree the car count is down, and less cars on the track means less wear and tear..and we have a new track promotor that has been around a long time and given a little more time, atleast more than two weeks, Dennis will do just fine.
I think we should all support our local tracks while we still have'em.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Sills had to pass cars to win. the super race had Marino on the front row. the 22m was fast but couldnt get through traffic quick enough. when you have the guy who has won all kinds of races at Chico and he starts on the front row i dont think thats on the track conditions. maybe a different lineup procedure would help with the show but i think the right guy won. thats all i look for. as far as the 410s, 12 cars sucks. i love racing here but hell what can you do? fuel prices and other options out there and the expenses that come with 410 racing may have to make drivers choose. not at all poking at sds or kotw but if there are two races on the same weekend and you are on a budget to begin with you follow the money. sds will probably have more the next time kotw is off. its not good for local fans who want to see point racing but good for the drivers who have another place to race when kotw is off. as far as passing goes i dont think its completely on the track conditions. Foresburg won and he would have won from the front back or middle. Becker came from 6th. you see it all the time with guys who can qualify fast but almost never win a main event when you have to drive differently or pass cars. Sills Marino and Foresburg all winners. the vets stepped up. i agree the scoreboard was a problem.

They told me the new software will not allow them to post complete results, I told them we were happy with the old software.

How many weeks does it take to fix a score board? They spend all this money on the board and yet it stays non working...yet Wells Fargo's new sign was up since they paid some money...guess when money comes in they get moving..LOL
The problem is track prep..EVERY week is follow the leader in the heat race and maybe a little passing in the main. The fast qualifier barely makes it out of the transfer in the heat. Everyone wants a fast track for qualifying...I would rather see 14 second times and some passing then 12's and follow the leader. Yes there was a few passes yet B Miller couldnt even get around old guy Richardson for 5 laps...now that is depressing
If you look at the people running everything it is all the people from JPM days...maybe good...maybe not so good
The only reason kotw is getting any cars is because they are paying everyone to show up...how long do you think simpson is going to spend his money on that deal?? I would bet in July the tow money goes away
