Why aren't there Sprint Cars on the program? Devils Bowl is the only track in these parts that doesnt have more jalopies than any other class and now the Sprint Cars are gone. It's hard for me to understand how ASCS 360 Sprint Car Racing is probably the fastest growing Sprint Car Series in the country and Devils Bowl has dropped the entire class. Please tell me this is temporary.

The new corporate word around the country is profitability. In this case run junk pay less and take the minimal hit on the grandstand but increase your profitability. Going on all over the country haven't you noticed ? Screw the customer by giving them less and not having a care in the world about it. Your newspapers have shrunk to nothing while the price increases. Your grocery bill has grown and you still get less. Corporate is in a grab at all cost mode, no longer is the day where you need to put the customer first or even keep them happy.

Not Lannys biggest fan I think he would like to be running sprints but the different "Classes of Sprint Cars" may just kill the true grit Sprint Cars around these parts at least as far as weekly shows are concerned. 305 sprint cars are running less than 10 miles away for $400.00 to win. Devils Bowl is a tough place to run on a weekly basis, lots of motor required there. The prevailing 305 rules just don't cut it at The Bowl, I know back in the day the big boys used 265's and 302's, but that was before lockdown tires and wings. They ( I'm not sure who they is) keep cutting cubic inches trying to lower the cost, the cheapest thing on these cars could be displacement, the tires and wings are what need the adjustment. Sorry wasn't trying to hijack thread, will post own .

You are correct to a degree. There are reasons however. The newspapers have shrunk primarily because of the internet. Grocery bills grow because of government and gas prices. Customer first works if you have customers to please. If Devils Bowl runs stock cars only and the $$$$ they loose is trivial, then they do not need sprinters. If the $$$$ they loose is large, or enough folks take a stand and demand sprinters, they will bring sprinters back. We have the power folks, we just choose to complain and do nothing. Promoters are going to do what pays the bills. For most of them this is a part time job with full time job headaches. If Sprint Cars are to grow, it falls on we the fans and car owners / drivers to help promote it and make it profitable for a promoter to bring them in. Also, many stock car classes are willing to run for less $$$$. So, if we have fewer fans, will not run for less $$$$, and have fewer cars who's problem is this? And car counts will not grow if it remains as expensive as it is to support it. So all around, Sprint car racing is hurting.

I'm really not sure how much they will lose by simply losing my ticket price and I don't think a boycott is the answer I just know that for myself Devil's Bowl has always put on the best show in the DFW area by keeping the racing quality up. Although Sprint Cars are my favorite class, I would rather watch any class at Devils Bowl than have to go to one of the other local tracks around here that 1) caters to the lowest class of people they can find, 2) race 6 - 9 classes of cars each night, 3) spend more laps under caution than under green flag, 4) draw 50 - 200 600cc gokarts and call them "mini sprint. If anybody has any positive ideas that can be done to bring Sprint Cars back to Devils Bowl on a weekly basis I am in. Let's hope Lanny Edwards gets enough comments asking him to bring them back that he will know how important this class is to so many of us.
