What "pledge to not present events on conflicting dates" are you referring to?
October 29th is the third and final race of the "All Coast Challenge" at Ventura Raceway.
We are in our fourth year of trying to build a classic series.
I don't think anyone wants to see another negotiation conducted on the internet, but please reconsider your date.

What he's suposed to clear the whole month of Oct. cause you have a race on the 29th...give me a break...I can click on his 'e' mail address-dial his phone # bang- private conversation...no reason for you to broach this subject of dates[since he stated TBD] on this post.

It looks like the original message was edited so he prob originally had it scheduled it on oct 29 the reason why surf wrote that. my question is he saysyou have to have run 4 races but he only has 3 more sprint open races on his schedule so the only people that would be eligible were the 5 that were there on the 9th?

Both of the two original posts have been edited. He originally had the 29th dialed in, I originally replied with a sarcastic and self serving response. Once I had my cup of coffee and calmed down, I edited my response and he countered with a date to be determined. I appreciate his consideration. Race 88 is correct, this can be handled in private and there is no need for negative characterizations.

My two cents.
I think that Steve is on the right track on this. If he thinks he an make money on a Sunday, October 30th show, make it a true USAC/CRA show, he might be able to draw some of those midwest boys out here with their 410's.
Also, if a few of the regulars down at Ventura would make some cars available on the 29th, they might be able to draw a few midwest boys also.
Think of it...Ventura on Saturday
Victorville on Sunday
Oval Nationals Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
It might draw a crowd of sprint cars.

Would you have cried about the original date 0f Oct.29th being slated a USAC National points race ? You can't really call a 360 only race a conflict against anyone wanting 410's to show up ! ! Trying to respect driver loyalty you would pull much mor cars' and fan's in the seat;s if you open the $4,000 to win to the whole field. One weekend before the Oval Nat's at The PAS doesn't get any better for you guy's at VRP.

You cant call an open 410/360 $4K to win a conflict with a 360 $5K to win race?
What the hell would you call it?

I was the only one who correctly pointed out VRP scheduling the same night as Santa Maria takes nothing away from Santa Maria because those guys rarely, if ever, run VRP. So I'll be the first to also point out plenty of CRA drivers support the All Coast races, especially the $5,000 to win race. So it's fair to say scheduling both races on the same night would not be the smart thing to do. October 22 would be a workable date but November 26 would probably be better. I don't know how many teams are willing to risk a car a week before the Oval Nationals for the October 22 date. If you go with the 26, no one else is running and you'll still have the national drivers available after Turkey Night.
And originally the third All Coast race WAS scheduled against a USAC National race. The USAC National race at Hanford was originally schedule for the week before the Oval Nationals but it has since been changed to the week after.

Come on guys ASCS Canyon
region is racing on the 22nd.Don’t hate on AZ and schedule over them.
Truth be told, there is
only so many dates you can throw a race on.And when you’re last to put out a schedule your going to step on someone’s
toes.

Hello Promoter, Just a little feed back for you. I was talking to someone I saw at your last sprint car race.. She has two small children and her kids loved the show... And she told me she liked the sprint cars the best!! The one thing she brought was that the intermission was a little long for her young kids and would love a meet and greet? She said they left after the sprint main, and plans to be back the next time the sprints run! You have a very racy track and John Aden does a great job preparing it! Just letting you that other then hard core race fans are out there watching you and hoping you do well! Jim
