Hey guys I am going to be in bakersfeild from may 4th to the 8th. I was wondering what my options were. The plan is watsonville on friday night and ventura on sat only because I have to go to the airport after the races sat nught as I have a redeye out. Are there any other options for friday night? Also since I am new to the races out there is there any different track food that is a must try?LOL thanks in advance guys.

It's a bit of a drive from Bakersfield to Watsonville but that's the only Friday night option for sprints that I know of. They run the funny looking ones with the umbrella on top.

Not that I am aware of but if you like Steak, eat at Jacko's in or near Nipomo it will be on your way down from Watsonville to Ventura. The place has great steaks. Of course, if you eat steak cooked more then Medium Rare just get a burger at the track!

Another Friday option is Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia. It will knock 100 miles off of your trip back to Ventura, and the racing is excellent.1/5 mile bullring. Regular show consists of unrestricted winged 600's, restricted winged 600's, non winged 600's, and junior sprints.

Hey Mike, the Bogan express will be at Ocean for the Taco Bravo show on this Friday, and at Tulare for King of the West on Saturday. Hope to see you there. Make sure you bring Leslie!

Thanks for the ideas guys. I will have to check the weather while i am out there as well but thanks for the other friday option. The hanford show is a hard one to pass up but it is so much farther from lax and I fly out in the middle of the night. I will try to check out that steakhouse as I love steak! Hope to meet a few of you from the board there.
