It’s now confirmed. The ‘Short Track Nationals Challenge’ will take place at the 2007 Short Track Nationals (STN) at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR on Oct. 25-27.

It will now become the COMP Cams Challenge, and will award a winning driver a $25,000 bonus on top of the $20,000+ to win championship feature, making it a potential $45,000+ payday for an ASCS sprint car driver!

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires, paying a whopping $20,000 to win and $2,000 for 21st position at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway for ASCS Sprint Cars.

What is the COMP Cams Challenge?

The driver who wins the ‘Odus Pack Dash For Cash,’ on championship night at the STN will earn the pole for the STN feature event.

If the driver chooses to accept the option of the COMP Cams Challenge, that driver will start the event from 21st position.

The driver will also automatically be awarded an additional $1,000 from I-30 Speedway track promoter Tracey Clay, making it $3,000 to start for that driver.

If the driver accepting the COMP Cams Challenge comes through the field and wins the championship event, they will win the Short Track Nationals Challenge – which will add $25,000 to their winnings; making it at least $45,000 to win!

If the winner of the Pack Dash For Cash declines this promotion, this offer will then go to the 2nd place finisher of the Dash only.

In addition, COMP Cams is offering an ‘Engine Builder Of The Race’ series of contingency awards for the Championship event. The first place finisher in the A-feature will take home a $750 product certificate from COMP Cams. The 2nd place finisher will receive a $500 COMP Cams product certificate, and the 3rd place finisher will receive a $250 COMP Cams product certificate.

All COMP Cams awards are contingent upon drivers displaying their product decal on their sprint car, which will be provided as entrants sign in the speedway pit window.

We would like to thank COMP Cams for taking on the ‘Challenge’ as exclusive marketing partner for this promotion. COMP Cams is based out of Memphis, TN and is the absolute leader in valve train technology. To visit them online, click here or if you need Cam Help® please call 1-800-999-0853.

A webpage containing a flyer for this promotion and more information can be viewed (and printed, if desired) at www.darinshort.com/ccc.html .

We’re planning to celebrate the 20th Short Track Nationals by making it the biggest ever with the addition of the COMP Cams Challenge, and we hope that you make plans to attend the event.

Another interesting note, which has not been the case in the past few years, is:

The WoO races in Perris, CA on Oct. 20. Their next scheduled event is the Series finale on Nov. 1-3 at Lowe's in Charlotte, NC.

This event is the weekend between - - - and you know what racetrack lies between Perris & Lowe's? I-30 Speedway!
