I just finished the column, and I am curious if this thought popped into anyone elses head.

Lasoski appearing to screw over Guy Forbrook, his ride during the Knoxville season, prior to the Knoxville Nationals and driving his own #33 for the Nationals.

No offense, but that is the type of thing that would scare me as a car owner. He is a great driver and can be competitive wherever he goes, but to treat a car owner that way is going to scare a local owner away. I'd rather have Billy Alley. Thoughts?

There is a lot more to the story than that. I worked on the 33 car. That year and the 5 car. No bridges burned there. Trust me....

I thought the writer should have asked more questions like the one that popped into my head.

Danny stated when he was released from the 20 car that Tony followed through on his promise to sell the team to him for $1 . That included the Truck, Trailer, motors, cars, etc..

Seems funny that less than 10 years later he has to borrow a truck and trailer from someone else and states that he is "broke" and "can't afford to travel".

What happened to the $$ he obviously must have made when he sold all of this equipment? Seems he's been a hired gun for other teams since that fateful winter day....

Seems to me that he has the talent and desire, but how come other drivers end up back in cars that they were fired from just a few short years later (Haud / Roth for example)??

Has to be more to the story....

Well I work for Danny Lasoski Racing for the past 4 years. And will this year too. At Knoxville. And that's not the case at all. I don't post much on this rumor board. But I know Danny Lasoski. So it you really don't know. Believe what you read or write.

I am pleased to hear this.

I think (and others too) Forbrook is a engine/set up genius when it comes to Knoxville and he can make about any driver he wrenches on or drives for him a winner.

I have been a Lasoski fan for alot of years going back to the days when he was driving the 2 car at Knoxville. Danny was and still is a great driver. Unfortunately, he has pulled some pretty unethical crap over the years and its costing him dearly now. I still wear his shirt and am still a fan but he has made it really difficult for his "True Fans" to defend all of his actions. He is (in my opinion) the best driver out there right now without a full time ride. Too many bridges burnt!

Thanks for adding on what transpired with Forbrook. I have no inside knowlege, other than the fact that he was racing the whole year with the 5 and then is in a different deal at the end of the season.

Good point. Aside from taking his photo and making small talk I don't know him personally but he has brought on some bad PR. Whether there are hidden reasons the masses don't know or not some of those things are bound to come back and haunt him now that money is tight. I wouldn't call myself a fan but anyone would have to respect his wins and all that. I think there's something to be said for drivers who create a good public image and maintain it throughout their careers. No finger pointing but it's just a fact of life in whatever field a person is involved in.

Is this the same guy that worked for him that told us all he didn't have tire prep on his tire a few years ago also? Dude being broke means he doesn't have anyone footing all his bills. And I remember speaking with Guy at the nationals that year and he was not pleased with the Dude.

Yeah. ... I worked for Guy Forbrook the hole year. Up until the nationals. Then the Arctic Cat 33. Of course Guy wasn't happy. The sponsor was Arctic Cat. Guy didn't want to put it on the car. Because his father was Polaris dealer. It was Danny's sponsor. Offered it to Guy for the 08 Nationals. The lettering was even done for the 5 car. Guy knew awhile. Don't believe everything you hear. He is a great crew chief. No doubt. Bad personality. Will be working. For Lasoski again this year. Come see me. I don't post much on hear. Like I said before. But this got my attention. LOL.

At the end of a full season, how many spare motors, cars, etc. do you think these WoO teams have left laying around when they are going to get all new stuff for next year? With Tony more than likely knowing in his mind by September he and the DUDE were going to part ways, I would say maybe two cars and a couple tired motors were all that was left of that "team" he sold Danny for $1. That might be enough to last a year running locally. With Danny stating he is broke and can't travel, you have to look at it from his point of view. If he is going to end up funding his own team for the year, he would want to make sure he has plenty of funds in the bank to make a good run at the Nationals come August and not be broke with a tired motor come the end of July from running up and down the road everywhere. As for the Forbrook deal, they would have parted ways by early July had it not been for the both of them wanting another Knoxville Raceway Track Title. When that was locked up, they said their goodbyes.

HTK50138 there was never ANY #5 car Arctic Cat designs and that is an absolute fact. It was always the #33 from start to finish.

Bingo. People will believe anything they hear from a driver if they've been around them for years. I'm guessing Dude is going through his contacts and getting a lot of 'ignores' from people he has used over the years. I would almost guarantee it.

The shit gets old when you don't treat the people closest to you with any ounce of gratuity for their hard work. And "that's a fact."

With one half of the Woo teams owned by TSR,KKR,and Big game there are just very few if any free rides. The Dude is one of the top drivers with a lot of experience and very capable of winning races.Im sure if you asked him he probably would have done some things differently but who hasnt.WOO loss will be Knoxville gain and give a few of the boo birds someone too either cheer or boo for and will sell a few extra tickets.Too bad they cant start Danny and T-Mac in the rear every night like they do at Osky to add to the excitement.Give them extra incentive for putting on a show and proving their abilities .If winning races was my only criteria he would be right there with the top five.

jholz, 2 cars and a couple tired moters left? That is the most ignorant post I have read on this board in some time.
