I have close to 200 VHS racing videos dating back to as far as I can remember and am slowly converting them over to DVD. However, on my NCRA tapes from 1984-1986 I am stumped. For the 1984 season I have the all the races except the Hutch Nationals and from 1985 I am only missing a couple of shows. Should I transfer each race to have their own DVD or should I try to put them in order (as they happened) on as few DVD's as possible?

For instance, one DVD would have the first three or four races from 1984, then next DVD would have the next three or four races, etc. Or should each race/tape have its own DVD and put them in order that way?

If I put them one race per DVD then I have some DVD's to give away that has three or four shows on one DVD.

I have come to the conclusion that, since I am acquiring old 1980 and current WoO shows via VHS, that each race will have their own DVD. That wayI can put them in order as the actual race schedule of that year.

I am also looking for labels to be done that look professional and really neat.

What are your thoughts?

If you have the room, I suggest each race on it's own DVD. I'm sure the dvd will be replaced by something else (blue ray?). As cheap as dvd's are , and since a damaged dvd could ruin 3-4 races instead of 1, ....well that's my thought.

Every time technology changes, we'll be forced to convert again.

David, I sent you an email about paper labels vs. cd/dvd printing... stuff that would be good info. for your project and protecting the dvd's you're making.
