Everyone that was running as incumbents except one won last night. The only one not to win was Walters. Remember, he was the one that voted to keep the track around.

All I was doing Bill was posting results given that there was at least three threads started about go to vote. I did not add any comments on those results.
You know you did not have to look at the thread since it was cleary stated something about city council.

I HEREBY APOLOGIZE TO NONWING BILL. -no sarcasm Sir, you are right.
After what I've been seeing lately ( I am not in the position to talk about it right now- just have faith!), I see now it is truly time to let go of the bad stuff, learn from it, pick the best stuff out of the past we can, and move on.
I have come too far for myself, and you who care about the history, to sellout.
As a strategic move, it's time to start healing.

Catpuppy, you're right. I apologize because. Wrong place for that comment. But you know my feelings. Brian, no harm no foul.
I, too, would love to see racing back and hopefully someday we will. The "grand prix" will be a fiasco, especially if it's ALMS sanctioned. Grand Am would be okay. Keep posting your thoughts. I may post mine as well. We may disagree on a lot but no reason we can't have a civil discourse.

First of all, I am not re-living the past...what we had at SFS was one of the finest dirt track facilities in the nation, and now it is gone.....yes... we all need to move on, but if we can't reflect on our past, there will be no future.
History repeats itself, so for those that wish to post on how much of a lose the Speedway was and what it meant to them is not living in the past, but more a reflection of memories.
It is only natural not to accept change, and I believe that most were not fully informed at the time of the Speedway's demise. Like I have always said....We as a group need to unite. Our future depends on it.
The worse part of this story is that most Racers live outside the OKC City limits and had no vote in the fate of their local track.

I agree.
I get accused of living in the past all the time. Moving pics on the internet, old racing videos, finding old obsolete parts for the cars, talking about what i've learned, etc, etc,, etc.
I find the journey is more about learning "why" we got hooked on this Great American Sport called racing to begin with. It gets so complex at times, but i understand enough to know the Grand Prix thing will have a hard time living here. It lives fine in Long Beach, and in Florida, but those are differant people with differant tastes. We like new things here, but taking in a new way of racing overall, would be like an uncomfortable 'soul transplant'. It will not fit when it is less than what we have seen.
If they need to go on out there and lose their ass financially on the sports car race, and are so determined, let them be. There have been so many strange turn of events going on, and yet for some strange reason, the dirt people always get the upper hand---yes I just said that, it'll happen again too.
