After watching Datona I was wondering who were the youngest, rookie, etc. winners of major KS or OK racing events such as the Hutch Nationals.

Swindell 2 in a row at the Chili Bowl, not sure how young he is???, but I thought they said last year he was the youngest winner so far at the Chili Bowl.

Not many other major events in the 2 states , other than the weekly grind/points shows at tracks.

The Robb kid from OKC won a Super Sprint A main back in 06 or 07 or ??? at the now former State Fair Speedway and he was only 15 at the time I believe.

May have to check the year for sure, but when Wayne Johnson was a rookie in the wing-less modified class in 85' or 86' I'm pretty sure he was just 14 years old!! I do know Henry (his dad) had to sign a wavier. By the way he did win 2, maybe 3 features his rookie year, driving the purple # 77.

He won two on the same day.

It was a makeup show that featured the A mains from the Friday night before, and then a complete show (heats and A main) right after that.

I think he beat Wayne Wade in one feature, and then Dutch Ter Steege in the main later that night.

All three Johnson cars were purple that year.
