I plan on attending the Dirt Cup and was looking on some advice for picking my seats. Is sitting as high as possible better or does that not matter? Any advantages of sitting turns 3 and 4 compared to the front stretch. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark -
I'm part of the announce team at Skagit. Turn 3 and 4 provide a unique vantage point but you are more likely to get dusted over there. Those looking to avoid the dust sit toward the end of the front straightaway. I would recommend going higher up...the track sits in a bowl, so the higher your vantage point, the better your view.
See you in June!

Thanks Kaleb!
Also do they allow coolers and alcohol to be brought into the speedway?

Skagit has a no outside food or beverage policy. I can't attest to it personally, but I'm told by friends and the girls in the Beer Garden that our beer is quite delicious and goes down well in large quantities. :-)

They do not allow coolers/alcohol to be brought in. In order to have adult refreshments you must sit in turns 3 &4 as the front straight is no alcohol and some sections are also no smoking. That rule is enforced by the local sheriff, so it is not flexible. As Kaleb mentioned, if you want to stay some what clean sit higher up. No matter what bring your eye protection or you will miss the action. The track is like a giant bowl, so a bad seat is hard to come by.

When I was going to Skagit in the early eighty's it was a very family oriented facility. You always saw a lot of families with their kids there.
In those day's you didn't have to worry about the dust very much. The track was always heavy and it held the moisture throughout the night. I was shocked the first time I saw video's of how the track condition is nowadays.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Turns three or four all the way up is the only way to go in my opinion.

Thanks everyone! I am used to the dust from sitting on Beer Hill at Williams Grove so that will not be an issue for me or my group. Looking forward to my first visit to Skagit!

Yes, up high turn 4... beer garden right behind this area. The Dirt Cup is a must for any race fan as well as the WoO shows.

I don't think there is a horrible seat in the house. However choosing your seat will depend on what type of atmosphere your looking for. Turns 3&4 are the beer garden. So expect it to get rowdy and people to be consistently getting up and down from there seats. Which would make sense with all the beer they're drinking. Side note of all the places I have sat this would be the most dusty. The front strectch is split into a lower and higher section both of which are relatively calm and offer good views of the racing action. Then comes turn one. This is my fav area to sit and here's why. I prefer the view, no one getting up and down in front of me, it's less crowded and I don't believe it to be as dusty as the rest. So many options but you do have three nights of racing to figure out what you like best.
