Tulare, Hanford, Santa Maria, and Bakersfield add the ASCS; PAS adds the "Senior Citizens".

While Tulare, Hanford, Santa Maria, and Bakersfield target more "butts", the PAS targets more "backgate", by introducing a trophy only class.

BTW, don't tell me that the wing cars fail to produce "passing". Last nights Tulare show was outstanding and was loaded with passing. On the same night Sammy won a stacked Allstar feature from 9th.

Some race tracks brag about being "traditional", while some racetracks get to brag about the "show".

It's also "traditional" for me to turn around, drop my pants, and ask you to kiss mySmile

PAS has done the math. The winged sprint events they have put on in the past weren't well attended by the fans in So-Cal. The difference in what the common sprint car fan will attend in just a few hours drive to the north as opposed to the south is as different as night and day. Even going back the the days of NARC, you just didnt see the winged cars run south because of the lack of interest for a So-Cal fan to attend such a show.

Ascot did "OK" with the World of Outlaws but it wasnt so much on what they got from the front gate alone. Ascot got to reap the rewards of the concession stands, something the PAS cant do. Id rather see a good winged show at the PAS rather than no sprints at all (non wing is still my fave), but if the public wont support it to make it viable for the track, you cant blame management for making a business decision that is in the best interest of the track.

As for the 'senior sprint' class, I think a support class of this nature is a good move for the track. The industry has changed and tracks need support classes on their program. Another sprint class to put on a show is better than some other options. It has worked well for Ventura. I suspect the PAS will do well with them as there will be a handful who would like to race the PAS.

Bigfish, I appreciate the spirited debate! I have to admit, I enjoy the drama, I mean debate.

Seriously though, I am SoCal fan, and I would love to see some winged cars at the PAS.

Thanks, I though you might enjoy it. This place has been so dead, I just couldn't help myself... Ascot and Manzy were for the most part my home tracks, and though I've seen some good winged races (mostly in the 80's) for the most part to me they are boring. Take the Western World this year. I brought two friends who had never been to a sprint car race before, and they enjoyed some of the non wing hot lap sessions more than the winged heat races. They said that yes their fast, but they liked the style and close racing all through the pack in the non winged cars.

Now I'm tempted to go to the Copper on Dirt, but it's only the Midgets and seeing some friends that's tempting me.

Hannity,

I am going to have to start calling your Colmes with your repeated love of Winged Sprints!

LOL,

Joe

PS. I do think that there should be a purse of some sort for the Senior Sprints that is why myself and one other member on here have decided to put up $100 each towards a points fund! In true Hannity fashion (he raises a lot of money for the troops families that are killed or wounded in action for those that dont know), what have you added to the pot? Sometimes in a rough economy we have to be willing to help out own!

I should know, but I don't... How doe's Ventura handle their senior division as far as a payout is concerned?
