Hey guys and gals, I'm changing my number this year, it has been 52 for the last few years, but a little shift in our team has left me looking for a new one. I want to have a number that has some historical significance. I ran 9 for a while (Gary Wright is my all-time favourite) but unfortunately that number has been taken and our rules dont allow for multiples, unfortunately. So, give me a number and a good reason why to run it!

You want to get a number that is easy to write quickly. When scoring cars during races manually its easier to write easy numbers down. Electronically doesn't matter. Also a number that is simple and looks good when done up in large configuration. #1 is the easiest and #s like 8 or stuff like that is hard. #7 sounds good.

How about 7? 5+2=7.
If you don't like that you could also just reverse the order and go with 25.
Final thought would be 97. A tribute to Wright with the 9 and the history of the 52 represented in the 7.

Go with a # that you usually don't see on a sprint car. I hate going to a track and seeing three cars with same #.

Ever notice that at almost every race the majority of cars use numbers less than 50? In most cases close to 3/4 of the field are numbered less than the number 50.
Ok...its icy I and cabin fever and I am bored

This year is the 100 anniversary of the first Indianapolis 500. In 1911 Ray Harroun drove #32 to victory. I'd go with #32.

76. I don't believe I've seen that number on a race car since PJ Chesson. I would bet you won't see many multiples with that one
do it in the dirt

I'm a big fan of 91, as you can see by my screen name. I've been racing karts for a lot of years and have used 91 for the majority of them. Came up with it because my dad has also raced karts for years and always used #19, as he was and still is a big Steve Smith Sr. fan. I didn't want to run the same number so I just flipped it and it stuck. Plus, I think it looks pretty cool on the car.

My # is 91, and I ended up with that by way of # 9. When I was a kid I played hockey and wore # 9 for Gordy Howe. One season I destroyed my teams #9 jersey and went to #19 to keep the 9. From then on I kept #19 for hockey and lacrosse. I won't put 19 on a race car for reasons I won't go into, so I went with 91. So by my logic I would go with 19 or 91.

I've been thinking about changing my number to 77, or 75, in memory of The Rocket.
