When will Fremont get it right? The last two full nights of racing have been horrible. I know they ran double feature 305's last night but that is no excuse for how bad and black that track was by the time they ran the 1st 305 feature. I thought I was watching a pavement race since the track was completely black from top to bottom. Someone needs to get over there and do something with that place. I think I fell asleep during the 410 feature.

I don't know if I'd say multiple racing grooves. Yea there were a few guys trying to go high because they couldn't hold the bottom but I'd say 80% of the race was run on the bottom. No cushion what-so-ever. Then not to mention no one was even touching the gas until they were completely through the turn. It looked like they were running on ice. It was pathetic. The night they got rained out, they had a wonderful track before the rains. They need to have that type of track way more often.

The Track that action forgot lmaoo that is the funniest thing i have heard. Fremont is the only track that I have been to that I can actually say is worse than Butler. The Place is a joke I dont even think i have seen hot laps that interested me at Fremont.

Fremont has been black and slick every time I've ever been there. I've heard drivers compare it to racing on ice or marbles more times than not. It's definitely not your basic wet, tacky track but I have seen some great finishes there.

Yea, I know. This was not a first time visit. It was about a 10th visit. All I am saying is this is by far the absolute worst I have ever seen a track in back to back weeks and possibly the worst ever. (Eldora WoO show might have been worse) I mean they had a real good/fun to watch track before it was rained out last week. Now I know they had a lot of rain the day before but wouldn't you think someone would be like, hmmm...Maybe if I water this thing then dig it up and keep it watered or hell rain is coming lets get some moisture down into it we might have a good track. So I figure if I'd throw my 2 cents in on here maybe someone might see it. I mean hell if I'm gonna waste money almost every saturday at a local track, might as well get a good show. Right? The most exciting thing of the night was watching Brad Haudenschild throw fire all the way around the track for 15 laps. Gotta say though, he looked his best when he had no brakes and was somehow moving up through the field after falling way back.

Fremont speedway the track that no one should have built instead of the track that action built that would be a nice place for a parking lot

you know I think it is funny you guys rip on the track. But EVERY feature winner saturday night ran the top and Blaney actually used 3 different ways around the track getting through traffic. I guess you guys haven't seen the place heavy and fast when alot of stuff gets torn up, but hey it isn't our money getting torn up so who cares right??? I paid attention to the line of each feature winner (410's, 305's both features) and trucks because I knew there would be someone crying about the track being slick.

In the words of some other posters on this message board, with all the rainouts, just be happy you got to see some racing saturday night.

Well that slick track had what? 4 flips maybe 5. Hmmm... tore a lot of stuff up there. It's slow and was even slower that night. Like I said. It was like watching cars on ice. Blaney's lines depended on what trouble was ahead of him. There was no top/bottom/middle. It was all the same. All blown off by end of 410 heats.I heard quite a few say they couldn't get the cars nearly tight enough. Without butts in the seats there won't be a race-track. They have to play the happy medium and so far they aren't holding up their end of the bargin to the fans. I go to watch a few friends race but am not happy when I am forced to watch shows like that. Just hoping they get a show in Saturday and they do something with it during the rains on Thursday/Friday.

hey guys, dont wanna make anyone mad. but i race there on a weekly basis and usually cant hit my ass in the feature. i would rather see it as rough as they could possibly get it, so it would seperate the men from the boys. but you cant always have what you want. i personally dont like slick tracks, makes for boring racing, and even tougher to race on. but hey its racetrack so im gonna go race on it. i guess if you dont like it than dont go. but its not only fremont that is that way, most racetracks across the country are getting like that. Why? because the promoters take the fans for granted. they dont do any work on the track because they dont need to, because they know people will keep showing up. the way i see it, its in our hands. if nobody shows up, it will open their eyes. the best promoter i have seen and actually keeps the tracks nice to race on, is capatani from knoxville, and terry mcCarl at oskaloosa for the race party. terry gets the fans involved and has good racing. i just wish more promoters would take after him. but i guess my main point is, if its a race track (good or bad) i am gonna go watch sprintcar racing and keep racing them. its an epidemic, and we are all gonna have to get used to it.

Talking about paying attention, what was you looking at JC? They had some of the worse 305 flips I have ever seen there this past weekend, 3 real nasty ones, and the track was not real fast and tacky. Hell, the one was about a foot from clearing the pit fence.

racerfan227 how can you show that picture and say that this accident was caused by the track? all this picture shows is a car crashing. for your and duanes info (don't know what you were looking at duane) the track didn't cause the crashes. last time i heard, driving over someone elses tire was called driver error!!

Don't go that often, but Fremont has always been slick but racey. I usually go to every race at Eldora, but after the last race there, they could've used the Fords to help with track prep.

So how close were you watching the races Duane??? Racefan??? I saw 3 cars flip hard and not a single had anything to due with track conditions. All three drove over someone. Blaney ran the top when there wasn't traffic also. And you complain about track but it has been like this since Ford's have run it. Would you rather the alternative???? I see how close you paid attention to the crashes so I will spell it out for you. Take away Fords and all they have done at Fremont and you will see a dead race track again. Maybe you would rather have that.

I didnt say the track caused it! I said, they had 3 nasty crashes and the track was not fast and tacky. Your early remark was, "you havent seen the place heavy and fast when a lot of stuff gets torn up." Point is, the track WAS NOT heavy and fast and stuff still got torn up! That means your statement has no valid argument to the guys who said it was black and slick. Accidents happen no matter if its fast, slick, tacky, dry, whatever, it happens. Is every wreck on a heavy track caused by the track, NO! Is every wreck on a dry track caused by the track, NO also. You were jumping on guys cases about paying attention and whining and crying, pretty like you are doing the for opposite side, with your point being, "when its heavy and fast, stuff gets torn up", well unless I was dreaming the crashes, stuff got torn up when it wasnt heavy and fast too, thats all I was saying. Show me where I said the track caused the crashes. You know whats really funny, I was talking to a figure in racing tonight and said, you watch, when I get back on hoseheads, JC will be all over my ass because he will misread what i was saying, blow it way out of line, like you are/did, and act like i am the choosen bad one in this deal. Now thats funny!! Best thing, they wouldnt bet me that it would play out that way, without either one of us having been on this board since 5:30, and look, we were right.

Very well put JC! Where else do you know of that has spent the money to install soft walls at a dirt track? Ask some of the regulars how much money and injuries those walls have saved over the last 3 or 4 years. And don't forget the purse that Mr Ford pays for 410's. I believe it is still $2500 to win and has been for at least 3 years. Still one of the highest paying purses in the country for a regular weekly show. Yes, Fremont has a lot of dry slick racing, but you have to realise that Mr Ford does not water the track after the racing starts. Why, for one the track is located in the city and Mr Ford does all he can to move the show along and complete 3 (or even 4 this weekend) features at a reasonable hour. 108 cars in the pits Sat night ( 32 -410's, 40 - 305's, 36 - trucks). Not a bad show for $12, dry slick or not! Oh ya, don't forget the 2 bikes they give away to the kids every night too! Looks like Mr Ford is doing the things that everyone wants on these boards: Good car counts, Good food, Races completed at a decent hour, bikes for the kids, and safety above the norm with the soft walls. Keep up the good work Mr Ford!!
