I didn't start going to the races until 1968. I remember that there was a lot of talking about the change from the full body coupes and sedans. If the Edmonds did not come out until 1968 war this style called a "BUG" ?

It would depend a lot on who you talked to. Jack Merrick called them modified jalopies.

There were a lot of narrowed sedans and coupes in the late 60s, what were they called? A friend of mine told me that back then if you had to run the same engine as the type of car that you had. When Emmitt Hahn went from the rookie class to the supers that the owners bought a crate Ford hi performance 289 and put it in his Ford sedan and this was very popular trend then. The HIPO Ford engine was less than $1500 and was very strong at the time. When did the weight limit get dropped?
