Chris Kearns had his Santa Maria Awards Banquet on January 29, 2011 with 238 people in attendance. He had a lot of classes ranging from the Jr dwarf cars to the USAC West Coast Sprint car class. Chris made everyone feel like a winner with a great dinner, silent auctions, Contingency giveaway from sponsors such as Advance shocks, Hoosier tire, BR Motorsports, and others. He also honored the Points Champion winner and Rookie of the Year of each class with a beautiful large 4 foot trophy and a Embroidered Jacket with the winners name and the award. He also gave plaques to all drivers from second to tenth in the points in each class. He started the evening off with a video recap of the years events, class winners, track incidents (very laughable) to put everyone in a great mood for the evening festivities.
He spent a lot of time working with track sponsors, industry sponsors, race car sponsors, in this tough economy to come through and make it a great evening for all of the winners of the classes. I also saw Lance Jennings (SCRAFAN.COM) who also goes all out for the sprint car division to work on sponsors for contingency awards for heat and main event winners during the year.
Santa Maria Speedway and the west Coast Drivers are very lucky to have a track promotor who came up through the driving ranks and understands the money spent to win that $ 20 trophy on any given Friday or Saturday night.
At the track he always works tirelessly and he also did at this banquet for everyone to have a great time and know in Chris eyes that they are all winners whether they are a driver, car owner, car sponsor, track advertiser, track officials, or families supporting all of us.
I want to personally thank Chris Kearns on behalf of my son, Chris Ennis, being given "2010 USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series "Rookie of the Year" for the great trophy he will cherish in the years to come and the Jacket he will love wearing.

Wow, Thank you very much Allen. I hope everyone enjoyed the evening. I do think I need to fine tune my MC'ing abilities though!
