A shot I took of Holts Summit, Missouri's Gary Scott at Knoxville in 1979. http://www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=073e2cfd64e6

Very nice. Gary was a crowd favorite when I was a kid. Not a front runner every week but one of those guys that would be in the hunt and was fun to watch. Also a super nice guy from what I remember being a 7-12 year old kid roaming the pits for autographs after the races.

I agree Lefty, I wasn't around him a lot, but whenever I was he seemed like a super nice guy, and was a damn good racer. In the mid to late 70's they had the Missouri National's at Sedalia. One year they split the 2 day show into one day with wings and the other day without wings, and there were great drivers from all over the country there. They had a point system and the high point man from the 2 nights combined was the Missouri National's Champion. If I'm not mistaken, Gary Scott was the high point man and thus champion. He had several wins at both Capitol Speedway at Holts Summit/Jefferson City and Saline County Speedway at Marshall. It's a shame he became another of our Fallen Heroes.

I was at the Boone Spedway in Boone, Iowa in 1982 when Gary won his one and only WoO feature win.

Move the legend in the upper LH corner. Pieces like to hide under it.

And I've got the beginnings of a case of carpal tunnel from clicking the mouse.
