Does anyone know the name of the company who made/makes a manual torsion bar tester? I have only saw 2 of them, they were painted blue, just had a digital gauge to tell how many pounds the bar was giving. It came with a stop and arm to test with. Any help would be great.

88sprint,
If you're talking about something to just check spring rate, I made my own a few years ago. It didn't have a digital scale, only mechanical, but it worked to check bar consistency, etc. It got away from me in one of my moves and I was thinking about making another. You want me to make you one?

Does DNK have a website? I searched but didn't come up with anything. I was hoping for a pic to see if it was the one I am looking for. Thanks

I looked at intercomp, this one isn't a "tube" that the bar goes in. It is like what an actual car has, it uses standard bar bushings on each end. You put the stop and arm on it, the arm hits the weight sensor, the stop bolt is then turned as it would be on the car to add "weight" to the bar. Then the digital gauge shows how much is being applied. It is a very simple design and like I said, it is built just like a torsion tube on a car.

Call Midland, Dave Beck built them, he is on the Sprint Invader Board. He hangs out there some and is friends with Matt & Scott. Call them, there might be some more left to sale. BR Motorsports used to selll them, and had a picture in the catalogs for a while. What you are explaining is exactly unit you are asking for.

88 Sprint
If your looking for a quality torsion bar dyno that is very user friendly and gives very good information visit www.accuforceshockdyno.com Keith Berner is the owner of this company and he builds excellent products for testing shocks and torsion bars. Most all the top outlaw teams carry his shock dynos with them in their haulers. The torsion bar dyno is new to his product line after a couple years of R&D. His units are priced very affordable and will give you accurate information. One thing good about his products they are self sufficent. You will need no laptop to operate these units. His new torsion bar dyno has a touch screen that stores up to 199 torsion bars and gives you rating every quarter inch on the compression side and rebound side of the bar. It will give the info to you in form of numerical data as well as another screen showing you a graph. If you would like to print your data it has a usb port you can use to put on a memory stick and print from your home computer or you can purchase a printer just for this function. Machine is set up to do sprint - midget and micro torsion bars. Unit sells for in the mid $5000.00 range. Everybody that looked at this unit at the IMIS show in Dec was impressed. Check out his site.
